My initial contact with the dealer was very positive. I had made an internet quote request through Edmonds. They contacted me very quickly quickly by email and phone. By the way, an online quote request never gets you an online quote, it just lets the dealer know how to contact you to talk about your interest in a vehicle. I ended up going to the dealership and they were very helpful in showing me not only the car I originally was interested in but also others I wanted to test drive. They let us test drive the car without the salesman being with us. They even printed out a drive out price quote on the car we were interested in. They agreed to remove their dealer add on charges (worthless things they add to every car like nitrogen in the tires and paint protection). Their other fees were a bit high - $400 for documents and $264 anti-theft tracking program. The price was pretty much MRSP. They did find the car in the color we wanted at another dealer and offered to swap it for us. When I started negotiating price was when things got tough. They knew I was looking at other cars from other dealers and kept wanting to focus on discrediting the other cars instead of making a deal on theirs. I made them a counter offer over the phone. They kept saying they would make whatever deal they needed in order to sell the car, but they didn't. They wouldn't even negotiate over the phone. I knew they wanted to get me back to the dealership so they could turn up the pressure. I wasn't going to play that game so I went and bought the other car I was looking at. I had a similar experience with this dealer before so I think this was not an isolated incident, but just how they do business. I don't think I'll be going back.
