Madison, WI - Recent Experiences?
by tenjoh on Tue Apr 24 15:23:22 PDT 2007
Anyone in Southern Wisconsin have any recent experiences and/or advice to share? I'm a newbie buyer in the market for a 2007 TL/Navi a/t. With few in-state dealers, it's hard to get a competitive price. Middleton Acura (aka Zimbrick)'s rep acted rather offended I dared to try haggling. He gave me "we don't do invoice" and "I don't even know what invoice would be"; his best offer was 35300 before TTL. Acura of Brookfield (which appears also affiliated with Zimbrick) didn't have much in stock and pretty much was quoting MSRP. Boyland Acura (in Appleton) was a bit more reasonable, after some discussion, at 36700 OTD (high 34K before TTL). The prices are better in Chicagoland (a couple quotes just above/below $34K before TTL), but I am unfamiliar with what extra steps might be involved in buying out of state. Any input would be much appreciated!
acura RL w/ tech package
by denmaim on Tue Dec 27 15:12:23 PST 2005
Ended up getting several prices in Milwaukee and northern Illinois. B/C the availability of the tech package is so poor, not as much wiggle room. Best price was Acura of Libertyville by 1800. The dealer I ended up with, Acura of Brookfield, came down a bit from their original price to 50750 including the back up camera which I view necessary, and wheel locks. By doing homework, following these posts, and getting multiple prices I came out 1500 less than the original bottom line price. Libertyville was still almost a grand cheaper but preferred the convenience of a local dealer and liked the color much better. They will not trade this vehicle with each other. I'm confident that I got the best price I was going to get locally. Now we'll see if hte price is worth it!
chicago suburbs buying experience

After shopping for a 2005 TSX automatic non-navi via the Acura dealers in Madison, WI and Brookfield (by Milwaukee), WI, and all of the Acura dealers in the Chicago suburbs, I ended up with a great deal ($25798 + TTL) at Muller's Woodfield Acura on Higgins Rd in Hoffman Estates. I e-mailed for a quote at 1:30 in the morning and my phone was ringing 8 hours later with a great price (and the color I was looking for - some dealers only had a few TSX's on the lot). I dealt only with the internet sales guy and my transaction couldn't have been smoother. No BS, no late price add-ons, and he was prompt and helpful in dealing with my lender. Couldn't be happier with this car. Considered the Volvo S40, BMW 3-series, glad I saw the light!
Prices in Northern Chicago/ Southeastern Wisconsin

The quotes I got by email for a 2005 Auto Nav TL are $33500 in Brookfield WI and $33000 in Northern Chicago. TTL is extra. Can I expect them to go lower? Thanks, Bud
invoice at acura of brookfield (WI)
by lup11 on Thu Sep 01 20:48:42 PDT 2005
Almost took the deal, but am waiting on the 06 model. 2005 was at invoice 43202 on a lease. $580 a month with only 710 due at signing. In WI taxes are based on the month payment so it would actually be 509.81 (5.1 tax in Waukesha County) Also have receive a quote on a MDX at $1500 below invoice for the touring with NAV list at 43090 for 38323.

I actually bought at Acura of Brookfield (in WI).... Acura of Libertyville gave me the best quote over the Internet, and when I discussed live with them (over the phone) it was even better. They were very great to work with... they actually were the ones to reco getting the Vin# (in my past post). I took the quote to Acura of Broookfield, and they stated that they couldn't match it. I walked out... later that day got a call from them stating that they would not only match my IL quote, but that they would beat it by $200.   I get the feeling that they were sick of losing WI business to IL (it's becoming all too common). That fact that I was buying in late December didn't hurt either. The folks from Brookfield were SUPER nice, and the guy I worked with was terrific. In fact, BOTH dealers were WONDERFUL to work with, but being from WI, I was very happy to keep the business at home. I would reco both dealers, as they were both good to work with. As I mentioned in my previous e-mail, there were some "shady" dealers in IL that were less than honest, but Libertyville was very fair (not to mention, they gave me a great price). It worked out great for me... would reco both dealers... I can guarantee that the WI dealer would not have come down so much had I not had the IL quote and the fact that I was willing to walk also played a part of it. Best advise to all is to get as many legitimate quotes as possible... while it takes time, it's worth it in the end.
