Re: 2008 MDX from 101 West Acura in Calabasas CA [soccerandlost] by movvac on Sun Aug 03 12:51:26 PDT 2008

Hello Soccerandlost, I am not familiar with the lease terminology. I am trying to buy MDX San antonio, TX , where there is only one dealer and the best I could bargain for MDX Tech+PTG is $37400 which includes $3500 incentives if I finance it from my bank. But seeing your post I think I am paying around $1500 more than what you paid as your capcost?? is $36000. Can you please suggest if I can go ahead with the deal or not.

07 TL with Navigation price paid by niceguysananto on Sat Jan 06 19:31:27 PST 2007

Several people contacted me regarding the price I paid for 07 TL with Navigation. I paid $33400+TTL, $200 below the $33600 invoice. Bought in Houston, TX. Very cool manager, very nice salesman. It was a pleasant shopping process. When I'm spending 30 some thousand dollars, I wanna be treated well. Before I bought my car, I called dealers in Austin, Dallas. They either gave me higher price or bad attitude on the phone. Here's some short stories. Salesman from Goodson Acura in Irving, TX asked for $500 non-refundable deposit to secure the $33100 price I asked for. Very fishy and dishonest. I said I needed to talk to manager to finalize the price, then I could drive to Dallas the next day. He refused. I said "I only needed a promise", what if I just come tomorrow without paying the deposit, it's not like the car will be sold out. He was like "if you don't pay the $500 deposite now, I can't garantee the price be the same tomorrow. inventory may change, blah blah......." BULLSHIT. This was the BS of all BS I've ever heard. I told him I barely started talking to him 5 mins ago and his promise was not worth $500 of my money. He was like "you called us, we didn't call you." I almost said the F*** word. I hang up, this man was too pathetic. With attitude like this, he will be making very little money live poor for the rest of his life. Then Taiya from David McDavid Acura of Austin tried to sell me a used 06 TL with 8000 miles on it for $34999 + TTL, tried to rip me off. Keep your alert level up when dealing with female salesman. they're just as dangerous as male ones. I told her I could get a brand new 07 for even cheaper than that. I asked if she could do $34000+TTL for brand new 07 with Navi. She said there was no way what so ever she could do that, and she sounded like she had no interest in my business. (Actually I got an offer for that price from a houston dealer already, it's just Austin was nearer to me than Houston) so I said thank you and hang up. San Antonio Gunn Acura doesn't negotiate price, $34799+TTL, and the car had around 600 miles on it. It was an 07, and they wanted to sell it as brand new with so much miles on it. Overall, I'm happy I chose the right place, even though it was a 3 hour drive to houston. Car was clean and got a full tank when the car was delivered. Salesman even paid out of his own pocket to buy chips and peanut from vending machine for my girlfriend. I know it's only a dollar, but it's not about the money, it's about the way he treated us. To all of you still out there car hunting, if I can be of any help, please let me know. my email's niceguysanantonio@gmail.com Good luck to you all. PS: Don't buy accessories except for window tint. you can probably get original Acura accessories cheaper online.

Re: Help on TL pricing [carscar] by liferules on Sun May 07 17:12:56 PDT 2006

That's about right. You may luck out on somewhere in the uppper $32's at the end of the month, but otherwise, that's very good...Just make sure it includes all fees sans TT&L.

Re: More offers [findeal] by jtr06 on Sat Feb 25 22:19:14 PST 2006

Surely, we can find a better deal somewhere in Tx, I would jump at $32,500 around Aus, San Antonio for an 06 TL AT w/ nav, and splash guards, wheel locks, and all season mats. I think tax is 6 1/2% Thanks I'm using Consumer Reports wholesale price and invoice price to compare

Re: 2006 Acura TL w/Nav Advice Needed [toddar] by liferules on Sun Dec 18 17:33:27 PST 2005

I think that's a solid good price. The one listed earlier from DFW of a TL w/nav at $32,600 is outstanding and will be very unlikely to be repeated. OTOH, if it is, now (i.e. December, and especially the end of December) would be the only time to do so. I suggest you send out emails to all the Acura dealership in the region (use Edmunds or the Acura main website, doesn't matter, both just send an email...). Then work with the best 3 bidders and make sure they give your the estimate in total price sans TT&L (i.e. including any and all fees they feel fit to include), that way you are dealing apples to apples between dealerships. Good luck. And finally, after you feel you've found the best price, WAIT. Don't commit, just say you'll think about it and that it's a good price. Then WAIT. I suggest 6 or 7 days. By that time, you'll receive several f/u bids from the other dealers and may sweeten the deal even further.
