Prices paid on '04 '05 CPO MDX Tourings: by morgantia on Sun Oct 21 11:23:00 PDT 2007; I'm looking to purchase a CPO or used '04 MDX Touring in the Boston/RI area. I'd want NAV and mileage to be between 40-55K. I'm seeing retail asking prices anywhere from 22.5 K (non-CPO) to 28.5-31K (CPO). These cars are not in short supply (at least 30 CPO meeting these requirements available within an hours drive, up to 80 available if I include non-CPO and am flexible on the Nav). In checking carfaxes, the inventory on these cars is moving, but a fair number are on the lots or listed in inventory for 30-60 days. Has anyone bought a CPO MDX recently, and how much below (percentage-wise) the dealer's asking price were you able to go? I've like to pay 20% below asking (starting negotiation at 25-28% below), but I don't know if say....24K - 25K on a 30K is even reasonable. If it's CPO I'd add in the wrap-around Acura-Care bringing it another 1K. Thanks,

Just arm yourself with all the information you can about pricing for the accessories. Why spend more for accessories then you have to. If the dealer will not throw in the accessories you want for free, ask their price and compare it to those you found online. It�s possible to get the accessories for almost half of what the dealership charges by going online. Reread this post for hint.

I am looking at the Automatic for now. I think, at this point, I'm looking at First Acura in Seekonk, MA or Inskip Acura in W. Warwick, RI. I'd appreciate any inputs. Thanks.

My friend bought an MDX in RI from a family friend, but she lives in Maine. She gets the cold shoulder when she brings the car in b/c she avoided making the purchase at their dealership. It's a small thing, but I like to know that I can go ten minutes away for oil change, etc with no hassle. BTW, the car has a defective piece in the door trim that reports the door being open. It was pretty simple to bring the car in and have it fixed quickly. Love the car.
