They were a little tough to deal with honestly initially, but I pointed to the salient facts (high inventory, decrease in 10-13% in sales compared to last year, gas prices, etc) and gave them a low offer on purpose initially to try to get as close to invoice - rebate as possible to meet in the middle so to speak. From the internet quotes, Stevenson in Wilmington is useless (gave me an offer that was $1000 off MSRP! what a laugh), but Crown in Greensboro ($5500 off MSRP was their initial offer) and Flow in Winston-Salem ($5300 off) had some very competitive internet offers without even haggling, but they were ~2-3 hours round trip away so less convenient. Leith in Raleigh has the most inventory but their quotes were a little higher. Didn't bother with Leith in Fayetteville or Apple Tree in Fletcher as they were farther away and smaller in size.

What kind of financing are they offering at Performance Acura, Chapel Hill. I live in Winston Salem, NC and don't mind driving down to Chapel Hill for a similar deal if they are offering a low financing.

NC/SC Dealer experiences...help?!?!?!?!: by thickcommish1 on Sat Nov 24 09:35:31 PST 2007; I had a 2005 MDX touring, loved it, traded it and now miss it. I bought something else strictly because of the pricepoint and I heard that dealers are not coming off MSRP. Now unhappy with my current vehicle I have been researching the MDX again to see if I could financially swing it. After reading the boards I have seen folks getting deals below invoice (not often) and some over MSRP. I have requested quotes from dealers and they are mainly quoting at MSRP still around my area, ie Charlotte (Hendrick Acura), Greensboro (Crown Acura), and Winston Salem (Flow Acura). I experienced this in 05 and had to go to Greenville SC for the deal at Bradshaw Acura which at the time met me in the middle if I would take their available color of Sage/Quartz. I intend on requesting quotes again but want to have reasonable expectations. I do not mind driving for a deal but also have a trade in which I do not know if it will mess anything up or not. Any help or advise anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

The dealer in Cary, NC called me today saying that they have clearance priced all of their 2007 MDX's and are offering 2.9% financing. Good Luck!

MDX w/Tech - Portland, OR: by devilduck on Wed Jul 18 15:20:38 PDT 2007; Picked up my new 2007 MDX Tech yesterday from Portland (Oregon) Acura. It has the following options, some of which I had installed: NW Package (Wheel Locks, All Weather Floor Mats, Cargo Mat) Roof Rails Cross Bars Running Boards (not sport) OTD Price: $42,712 I traded e-mails with the two Portland area dealers as well as the Salem and Eugene stores. All of them told me they were close to the Edmunds.com TMV price for our area. I actually visited Portland Acura and Ron Tonkin Acura in Beaverton, but felt most comfortable with the staff at Portland Acura. At Ron Tonkin, the internet manager seemed irritated when I showed up without an appointment, and when I said that I wanted a price close to invoice, I got a long lecture on how much overhead they have. I finally had to say �I get it� several times before he stopped. I had a generally good experience with Portland Acura and recommend them, but my one suggestion is to make sure you�re crystal clear in terms of the out-the-door price you plan to pay before you go close the deal. We had slight miscommunication in terms of whether the price quoted over e-mail included the document and title fee ($218). Happy hunting.
