Great Price and Great Dealership! Kendall Acura, Oregon
by andywatty on Sun Nov 18 20:48:57 PST 2007
If EASY and Fantastic is your kind of buying experience, Kendall Acura in Eugene, Oregon is the place. I made my deal on an 08 TL Navi, with mats, locks and mud guards, over the phone, in about 10 minutes. I got the price I wanted and no hassle. PG was very polite, professional and to the point. I flew to the dealership (Eugene airport is only 10 minutes from Kendall Acura) and drove the car home, 500 miles, that afternoon. So good was the deal, my mom's boyfriend went back the next week and got one just like it; same price. The only downside (and a very minor one) beware the finance guy. I paid cash but he still tried to get me to buy a bunch of extras. After the first pitch, I politely explained he shouldn't attempt any others or "he" would blow the deal and I would walk. Everything was perfect after that.
MDX w/Tech - Portland, OR
by devilduck on Wed Jul 18 15:20:38 PDT 2007
Picked up my new 2007 MDX Tech yesterday from Portland (Oregon) Acura. It has the following options, some of which I had installed: NW Package (Wheel Locks, All Weather Floor Mats, Cargo Mat) Roof Rails Cross Bars Running Boards (not sport) OTD Price: $42,712 I traded e-mails with the two Portland area dealers as well as the Salem and Eugene stores. All of them told me they were close to the Edmunds.com TMV price for our area. I actually visited Portland Acura and Ron Tonkin Acura in Beaverton, but felt most comfortable with the staff at Portland Acura. At Ron Tonkin, the internet manager seemed irritated when I showed up without an appointment, and when I said that I wanted a price close to invoice, I got a long lecture on how much overhead they have. I finally had to say “I get it” several times before he stopped. I had a generally good experience with Portland Acura and recommend them, but my one suggestion is to make sure you’re crystal clear in terms of the out-the-door price you plan to pay before you go close the deal. We had slight miscommunication in terms of whether the price quoted over e-mail included the document and title fee ($218). Happy hunting.

New 06 TL Navi with protection package (mats, wheel locks, etc,)in my garage. Paid $30,450 as quoted. Went fine except they did try to sell me an extended warranty, fancy wax job, etc. I just said not and we went on from there. For NW buyers, I've seen some messages about dealers not dealing. Try the dealers in Portland and Eugene; they deal. Thanks again.
$2,000 - $5,000 markup from dealer now for 2006 MDX, is it real?
by ericpopwich on Thu Oct 19 12:00:30 PDT 2006
a dealer in Eugene, OR told me that he is hearing that most dealerships are adding additional dealer markup on the MDX anywhere from $2,000 - $5,000. is this real? he offered me a No Hassle Internet/Costco Price of $34,319 for a 2006 Sage Brush Pearl with quartz interior MDX base model (MSRP: 37795), based on my reseach, his offer is about $4000 above everyone else is paying, what should i do?

I got it at Ron Tonkin's. I also went to Acura of Portland, and they said they'll match the price if not beating Ron Tokin. However, the Black on Black TL they had on their lot, I felt a weir clicking sound when stepping on the accelerating pedal. So I've decided not to buy it there. I've also heard that Kendall Eugene actually has better pricing, and they'll match out-of-state prices. So you might call them up and see what they can do for you.

I am from Bonney Lake and had horrible deals from the dealers in the Seattle area so we are purchasing from Eugene, Oregon-Kendall Acura. We are getting the base model for $1500 under invoice. Plus they don't add any of the extras and try to charge you for it ($358 for the NW protection Package was what the Seattle area dealers were charging). If you don't mind the drive, go to Oregon. The dealership in Portland was also willing to offer a great deal. The internet guys there were honest and helpful. The dealers in Oregon are all willing to contact the Washington DMV and figure out tax and licensing for you too. I actually had the dealer from Fife tell me that if I could really get that deal from Oregon that I should take it!. Good luck and let me know if I can help further.
