MDX w/Tech - Portland, OR by devilduck on Wed Jul 18 15:20:38 PDT 2007

Picked up my new 2007 MDX Tech yesterday from Portland (Oregon) Acura. It has the following options, some of which I had installed: NW Package (Wheel Locks, All Weather Floor Mats, Cargo Mat) Roof Rails Cross Bars Running Boards (not sport) OTD Price: $42,712 I traded e-mails with the two Portland area dealers as well as the Salem and Eugene stores. All of them told me they were close to the Edmunds.com TMV price for our area. I actually visited Portland Acura and Ron Tonkin Acura in Beaverton, but felt most comfortable with the staff at Portland Acura. At Ron Tonkin, the internet manager seemed irritated when I showed up without an appointment, and when I said that I wanted a price close to invoice, I got a long lecture on how much overhead they have. I finally had to say “I get it” several times before he stopped. I had a generally good experience with Portland Acura and recommend them, but my one suggestion is to make sure you’re crystal clear in terms of the out-the-door price you plan to pay before you go close the deal. We had slight miscommunication in terms of whether the price quoted over e-mail included the document and title fee ($218). Happy hunting.

$2,000 - $5,000 markup from dealer now for 2006 MDX, is it real? by ericpopwich on Thu Oct 19 12:00:30 PDT 2006

a dealer in Eugene, OR told me that he is hearing that most dealerships are adding additional dealer markup on the MDX anywhere from $2,000 - $5,000. is this real? he offered me a No Hassle Internet/Costco Price of $34,319 for a 2006 Sage Brush Pearl with quartz interior MDX base model (MSRP: 37795), based on my reseach, his offer is about $4000 above everyone else is paying, what should i do?

Purchased 12/28 in Oregon by scottjohnson on Wed Jan 05 22:51:51 PST 2005

I visited two dealers, one in Eugene and the other in Salem and was told the new RLs were going for list. I then contacted Autoland through my credit union and they were able to get me my new RL for $47,707. That included delivery and a cargo net.   My car actually came from Eugene, Kendall Acura, and I'll be going back there for service. Nice bunch of folks.

Re: '05 TL Auto non-navi in Pacific NW [igiban] by rsr152 on Sat Nov 20 21:35:08 PST 2004

No. I had a couple of color choices in mind that I told him (black/black, blue/quartz, black/quartz). He told me when each of them would be arriving at his dealership and I picked my combo. We settled the price for any of my color combos first, then discussed when the cars would be arriving. Everything was set up when I arrived in Eugene, OR (he also picked me up at the airport) and everything was finalized without any problem. Once again, very professional! A very pleasant experience.
