Don't worry about it, it really didn't sound nasty, just miffed a bit :P I have to wonder if you drove a crappy TL-S or something like that, the shift gates on mine a slick. In fact when I first test drove the TL-S I thought second gear was neutral and was trying to pull it farther back LOL. MY 98 Maxima traveled twice as far in the gates, it took some getting used to. The clutch is amazing in comparison as well, easy to predict and modulate, I can use the throttle a lot more on take off than my Maxima could. We had really nasty weather in Dallas/FW today and the TL-S is amazingly stable on wet roads, the other drivers were really pissing me off...they were sooo slow! For straight line freeway in inclement weather the FWD has an advantage all it's own: If you keep the throttle on, it's really hard for the rear end to get out of line, or stay out. Let off the gas and the opposite is instantly true. :surprise: When hitting troughs and puddles, the FWD just pulls the car through, even if the rear end steps out, since the front wheels are pulling forward, the rear end tracks back in line. I used this idea to hilarious results on the traffic circle last year when it snowed hard. I was bored and there was no traffic so I set the parking brake and drifted around the circle with the rear and dragging like a wake board. You can easily modulate the drift with the throttle and if you let off completely you get a nice 180. I recommend that anyone who sees snow covered road try this in a parking lot or empty street, it's great practice. Most of the wrecks I saw in the snow last year were single vehicle, the darn Texans panic when they see ice and let off the gas or slam on the brakes, then they go flying. It's counter-intuitive to the non-performance driver to stay on the throttle, and the news media doesn't help by telling everyone to slow down. Anyway, that was a nice tangent! LOL.

Funny you should mention that, I'm 25 and my husband is 27! We shopped several local dealers, and I got a quote of 27300 for the base model from the closest dealership. So when I called the guy back about the quote, and told him I wanted a manual transmission he said, I don't know why anyone would want a manual anymore, but I guess we can try to find one for you, but you'll have to pay the transfer for us to trade with another dealer. Whatever, I could tell he didn't really want my business. So my husband and I went there to practice, basically, and while we were there the only manuals they had left were silver and gray (to me that spells BORING) but anyway we just wanted to see the gray to see if I could possibly live with it for the next decade. So at their front door there's an unlocked carbon gray in a automatic, so we were just looking at the interior and checking it out while the sales guy went to find the manual in gray. And while we are looking at the car, some Acura person sticks his head out and yells at us, can you please not touch that car, it belongs to a customer already. Seriously! Do I have a disease, am I not a customer too? It pissed me off to no end. Who do they think they are, just because that Acura dealership is right next to Porsche. Anyway, of course like I already knew they weren't coming down on price much, so we said no thanks and left. So we went to a dealership about 100 miles away, that did the transfer for free, so I got my artic blue in manual, discounted protection package, 2.9%, all for a couple hundred over invoice, out the door - just over 28k. But really who treats people like that??? I can't believe you got yelled at.

2007 with tech. & ent. invoice price
by x5killer on Thu Jul 26 11:45:58 PDT 2007
wha is invoice for 2007 mdx with tech & ent.? also what about just tech invoice price? edmunds has this info right? on smartphone right now & cant look it up. hondacuraworld.com? has cost price of all accessories right? i have a fully paid 06 subaru B9 Tribeca so no rush but if i can hit a sweet spot of maximizing what i can get for current vehicle considering subie dealers are offering 2k above book value for 06 because they are in more demand now that the 08 was redesigned and ppl like the 06-07 better. plus with the high dealer holdback (profit) right now & 08 mdx coming next month, it may be the right time to make a move i would otherwise be waiting at least another year to do. but when you buy outright you realy should keep almot 10 years to get your moneys worth but i have a hard time keeping even for 5yrs like i did my last car as i get bored of it & want something newer. 4 yr lease would be prfect for me but i dont want to pay interest. plus though my mileage will go up on my B9 and value down, there will be even more demand for it next year at least from subie dealer when they have none left. plus around this time next year or when the 09 mdx comesout there may be even better deals on the 08 then there is now on he first year redesign 07 with 08's coming as soon as next month. its a tough call, is opportunity for great deals about to reach its peak? or will they be better later? i think they are about to peak as 08's get closer & hit dealerships & they aggressively move out 07's then after all 07's are gone, deals wont be as good until next year round same time where they will be just as good and possibly slight better. but i most likely wont get as much for my tribeca next year with more miles on it even if its in as much demand. basically if i can get 35k for my B9 tribeca & an 07 mdx for 40k, id do it. but thats a few thousand more then i probably can get on current vehicle unless private sale & 40k would be more realistic for just tech mdx not tech & ent. i can always add auto tailgae later & one can usually get a better dvd system with more screens for less money then the oem one. i guess right now all i need is invoice price for 07 mdx with tech & ent & invice pice for just tech. list of all accessories @ cost. and invoice/cost to add auto tailgate (if i dont get ent.) i have a dealer that will beat any qoutes i get and we already have bought a TL for below invoice from there. though the amount below invoice for mdx should be more since its a higher priced vehicle then tl to be equivalent deal, i would take the same couple hundrd or so below invoice that we got on the tl as a benchmark but not a dime over. im in a position where i will just pass on all but the best deal that is just to good to pass up. is it stupid to sell a paid for 06 suv that ive only had for 2 yrs (since july of 2005)? or is it better to cash in now on the demand for it (again dealerships offering 2k over book value due in part to ppl likeing it better then the new redesign) which may lessen as ppl get used to new model or they make a new sti/turbo vrsion or something plus i put more miles on it decreasing the value. and are we approaching the peak sweet spot time for best deals on 07 mdx? i'm thinking its a sweet spot to sell my current but demand may or may no become more so, for it later. i should prob list it for sale myself & only accept offers @ or above a certain price point. then if i get my price on sale of current vehicle and can get 07 mdx for below invoice now (even thoug i think deals will be slight better ayear from now) then i should do it. but that is contingent on a lot and ultimately will prob make more sense a year or 3 from now. plus i am kind of waiting on a vehicle tha uses xm passport so you can take the chip out to use in home xm device, potable, and others cars etc. also want a vehicle with xm & harddrive to recod live xm content as you hear it & ability to schedule recordings for playback later (handy when you dont have xm signal) all of which i can currently do with my pioneer inno used in vehcile with car kit, in home,on the go portable & others cars. but something like that, like the pio inno, but integrated may have to be an aftermarket headunit. speaking of pioneer they have some great headunits with touch screen nav, live traffic, dvd playback & storage for mp3s etc so they prob have one that can record xm or will soon. but whole point of acura is there superior tech & nav etc so to get without nav & put your own aftermarket headunit in you could do with any vehicle. same with the dvd rear eat entertainment. i would want screens in the back headrests & one up front. i know with the tribeca you can just depress the button on the parking brake (without engaging it) & get video on the main front display in additon to the rear dvd screen. but my friend has a pioneer touch nav, dvd headunit & 2 screens so he can have nav on one & dvd playing on the other or any combination of diff displays. i guess you could get the acura dvd with ent package & just add additional screens but no sure if that will actually make it easier to wire additiona screens or hinder it. a lot to figure out and ive said enough. i think i better just concentrate on seeing what i can get for current vehicle & getting 07 mdx for same amount below invoice we got on he TL, otherwise im waiting till next year or another 1-2 after that (current vehicle only 2yrs old now so would do it anywhere from now to 5yrs old) after how bad i did on my last vehcile purchase @ only 1k below msrp because it was brand new model & they had to get one with colors & options i wanted from another dealership (though i was the one that located it & convinced tha dealership to cooperate in a dealer trade with my dealer after they firs had told them no) I am determined to only accept the best deal possible that would be otherwise dumb to pass up and will hold out as long as it takes. and equally determined to get most possible for my tribeca as i paid about 40k plus upgraded aftermarket wheels & tires. so i figure better to start early and if I get great price for current vehicle & deal on new mdx combined that i feel i wont be able to beat in a year or 3 then i should do it sooner rather then later. after how much i overpaid on last vehicle plus made mistake of getting new first model year which they then added some features/minor improvements the next year (though again on the flip side of that, they redesigned it for the 3rd model year 08 making the 06-07 rare being only 2 model years with design that ppl like better then the new version ) so due to that may be the one chance i have in recouping what i overpaid to begin with. then i must get the best deal possible on an mdx so i really appreciate any help here, though at this point i think its just a matter of having my facts/numbers & holding out till i can get at least equal
Re: TSX Lease Deal in Central Florida [sanman1]
by bvdj84 on Mon Jun 11 08:03:39 PDT 2007
Ya, I have been saying the same thing to myself, really why do I wanna trade so early. I am just getting bored, and that is the car enthusiast coming out in me. I did lease my car, and believe it or not, I almost traded back in the spring for an accord with a sunroof, they were going to do it, they just looked at my pay off and trade in, thats all. I love my accord, but for this silly reason I miss my sunroof, only because its summer. My other car had sunroof. I really like the TSX, because hardly anyone in my area has one, plus its basically an accord. Honda accord should take on some of the luxury of the acura. I'll probably go and look at a TSX, but I'll wait to trade this fall or next spring, for what car, I have no clue, I'll stay with Honda/Acura though. I wish that the Civic Si, would come in a automatic! Thats another hot car.

Thanks for the heads up! I actually take 202 allll the way down from my house. I have never been to Montgomeryville Acura but I have been to that general area before. I will try to avoid the turnpike/309. I am going with the anthracite (6 speed with nav). I was debating between this and the silver. I just thought I would get bored of the silver after a while.
