acura tl deal - early info by sunbu95 on Mon May 10 22:38:45 PDT 2010

Here's what I agreed to at Matthews Acura in Marion Ohio (great sales guy, Don), after mucho research on this forum. Thanks guys. TL SH-AWD Tech, (no 19 wheels! those tires no go in snow!) List 43195, minus $5000 and throw in all season mats. Plus 280 or so in title fees, plus tax. Oh, and gimme that 0.9 apr for 36 months. No trade, no coupons no lease. FYI, the original offer was also for lease. This is just the first offer from the dealer: 3 year 12 K. $5000 due, 462 per month includes 6.75% tax. I asked for both quotes, but I loved the TL so much I want to own it. Jim in Ohio. I will be back here! if the deal closes any different next week. They are building me one in nearby Marysville, Ohio

2006 TL w/Navi quotes in Ohio by kurtk on Thu Nov 10 21:42:54 PST 2005

I have been considering the purchase of a TL for the past year. However, I hate negotiations and was not looking forward to long hours of sitting at a salesman's desk while he goes to talk with his manager! Luckily, I have been following this thread for the past two months in preparation for buying an 06 TL w/Navi. I want to thank EVERYONE that has contributed lots of great information here - it helped me so much. Here is a description of my buying experience... Two days ago I sold my 94 BMW 325is, so it got me motivated to get a new car - need tranportation! Yesterday morning I emailed 4 Acura dealers in Ohio wanting a specific car (2006 TL Auto w/Navi Silver/Ebony). I held off on contacting the dealer closest to my home. By noon yesterday I had the following offers ($1500 off MSRP from Columbia Acura in Cincinnati, $2250 off MSRP from Mathews Acura in Marion, Acura of Cleveland did not provide an offer, and I spoke with Acura of Dayton and they told me they could not come close to matching $2250 off MSRP that I got from Mathews because they were still selling 05s). At noon yesterday I emailed the dealer closest to me (Lindsay Acura of Columbus) and told them I had an offer of $2250 off MSRP. 30 minutes later the internet sales person from Lindsay called me and said they had two of my exact cars in stock and would beat the deal with the following offer: $2500 off MSRP or $33,440 + $100 doc fee + $15 title + $10 tag + $2180 tax for OTD price of $35,745 AND he would personally deliver the car to my house (30 miles away) AND would also pick up my car and drop it off at my home when it needs the first free oil change. I accepted the offer and told him to meet me at my house at 10am the next morning! This morning he came to my house with the car and let me fully inspect the car before spending over an hour showing me how to use all of the electronics, navigation, bluetooth, etc. and then we sat at my dinner table and I signed the paperwork and gave him a check. The car is beautiful and it only had 8 miles on it before it left the dealer lot. Within 24 hours I had obtained my new TL in a very painless fashion - never had to leave my own home! I highly recommend Lindsay Acura of Columbus, OH. My understanding is that they are the highest volume dealer in the state of Ohio. Thanks again for the great posts on this thread-it helped me determine when I found a good deal!

05 TL in Columbus, OH by jdubble22 on Tue Sep 13 19:33:23 PDT 2005

After the Labor Day weekend, I purchased an 05 TL w/o Nav (Red w/ Camel interior) from Mathews Acura (located technically in Marion, OH, which is 30 minutes north of Columbus). Their internet price was $31,000 (which included destination fee and the protection pkg - tire locks, mud guards and trunk tray). Taxes were an additional 6.5% and license fees were an additional $25.00. Lindsay Acura (located in Columbus) was offering $31,300 for the same car. Acura of Dayton (60 miles west of Columbus) offered a Blue TL w/o Nav for $30,650 (including the protection package). Ultimately, I went with Mathews Acura because they aggressively priced their TL on the initial offer. Other dealers offered to "match" Mathews Acura's price but I wanted to financially reward the aggressive pricing dealer. They seemed to deal with me with integrity. So I reciprocated with integrity and gave them the business and rejected all other offers. Good luck to anyone that is looking to purchase a TL in the Columbus, OH area.

Re: Cleveland Ohio 2005 TL w/Nav Purchase [jetpilot_mike] by gavram on Fri Aug 19 08:33:42 PDT 2005

I bought it at Acura of Cleveland. They were really good to work with. Using the Acura site I sent out a price request to all dealers in a 120 mile radius. I then took a competitive quote from a dealership in Marion, OH to Acura of Cleveland and asked them to match it. I tried this with Park Acura first, because we bought my wife's '03 TL there, but they wouldn't meet the price and they weren't willing to give me as much for my trade. If I wasn't able to get competitive pricing from the local dealers I would have purchased from the one in Marion. Based on what I've been reading from this site I wonder if I couldn't have pushed a little harder to get the pricing under invoice, but at some point your time is worth more than the extra $200. I also used a home equity loan to pay for it which saves us almost $1000 over the term of the loan through tax deductions.

Just bought a new TSX by whitetsx on Tue Nov 02 10:05:32 PST 2004

I just bought a new 2004 TSX, non-navi. Tried to deal with the local Acura dealer, but there is only one in town and they had very little interest in bargaining, citing limited production and availability of the 2004. Thanks to this forum, I knew I wasn't getting much of an offer and got on the Acura website, which gives names of dealers in a pretty wide area from your city. I called or emailed every dealer within a 5 hour drive of my home. Some did not answer emails I sent through their own websites; maybe because they didn't have much inventory. Still, I found a number of vehicles still out there. I ended up locating what I wanted at Marion Acura in Marion Ohio. The sales manager gave me a quote over the phone ($24,916), quite a bit better than any other offers, offered me a fair price for my trade in, and took care of all the details without even asking for a deposit. He even offered to make hotel arrangements since I was traveling overnight. It was a real pleasure to deal with them and I highly recommend. Honorable mention for being responsive and apparently competitive in pricing goes to Hubler Acura in Greenwood, Indiana, which quoted me $25,500 before I even tried to haggle, but didn't have the color I wanted, and Lindsay Acura in Columbus, Oh., which quoted me $26,000, including a 7 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty from a third party vendor (the value of which I never quite ascertained). I love my sporty little sedan; it's quite a change after 15 years of minivan driving but my kids like it anyway! The only down side so far is that, without bucket seats in the back, the kids can actually touch each other in the back seat and fight over the fold-down arm rest. Flashbacks to my own childhood.
