Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
I just signed a buyer's order for a RDX Tech package (Carbon Bronze/Ebony) for $34,549. I got them to throw in the Wheel Locks, Cargo Tray, and the All-Season Floor Mats. I initially used Edmund's to request price quotes from my local dealers (Cincinnati/Dayton). One came back with $34,160, the next for $34,645, and the third for $35,097. I ultimately purchased from Courtesy Acura in Lexington, KY as I will be moving there within the next year and they will become my local dealer. After three BMWs and a GMC Yukon, this is my first Acura.
Car_Man, You helped me out about 3 years ago when I had a lease vs. buy dilemma (I was steeler_fan then) and it was very much appreciated. I wanted to see if I could enlist your expert assistance once again. I'm considering a 2006 TL/Navi, and I'm looking to lease 36, 39 or 42 months at 15K/year. I made an offer of 32,300+TTL and it was accepted. I'm looking to lease through AHFC and I wanted to see what the numbers look like. I'm in the Dayton, OH area. Thanks!!
Hello all...I am really surprised to see such a good info in this form. I am planning to buy 2006 MDX Touring in next two weeks. Can someone who bought MDX recently in Columbus/Dayton/Cincinnati share me some price info and dealership details. This is my first SUV...am kind of nervous :-)
seanh2o....I bought my TL from Superior, also....a few months ago. No games. No hidden charges. Good prices. They made a good offer to me up front. Columbia and the place in Dayton wanted too much "back and forth" to get to a good deal. I did ask them to throw in the all weather mats (the rubber ones) to my deal. They did. I didn't want the protection pack, so declined that. So, I did just a wee bit better on price, but nothing to get all "bent" about. Superior's service has been....well....Superior. Quick in. Quick out. They've always been able to accomodate me the following day I call them and try to work around my schedule. I like them. I'm thinking of adding an RDX to the stable when it comes out. They will be the first phone call I make.
I have been considering the purchase of a TL for the past year. However, I hate negotiations and was not looking forward to long hours of sitting at a salesman's desk while he goes to talk with his manager! Luckily, I have been following this thread for the past two months in preparation for buying an 06 TL w/Navi. I want to thank EVERYONE that has contributed lots of great information here - it helped me so much. Here is a description of my buying experience... Two days ago I sold my 94 BMW 325is, so it got me motivated to get a new car - need tranportation! Yesterday morning I emailed 4 Acura dealers in Ohio wanting a specific car (2006 TL Auto w/Navi Silver/Ebony). I held off on contacting the dealer closest to my home. By noon yesterday I had the following offers ($1500 off MSRP from Columbia Acura in Cincinnati, $2250 off MSRP from Mathews Acura in Marion, Acura of Cleveland did not provide an offer, and I spoke with Acura of Dayton and they told me they could not come close to matching $2250 off MSRP that I got from Mathews because they were still selling 05s). At noon yesterday I emailed the dealer closest to me (Lindsay Acura of Columbus) and told them I had an offer of $2250 off MSRP. 30 minutes later the internet sales person from Lindsay called me and said they had two of my exact cars in stock and would beat the deal with the following offer: $2500 off MSRP or $33,440 + $100 doc fee + $15 title + $10 tag + $2180 tax for OTD price of $35,745 AND he would personally deliver the car to my house (30 miles away) AND would also pick up my car and drop it off at my home when it needs the first free oil change. I accepted the offer and told him to meet me at my house at 10am the next morning! This morning he came to my house with the car and let me fully inspect the car before spending over an hour showing me how to use all of the electronics, navigation, bluetooth, etc. and then we sat at my dinner table and I signed the paperwork and gave him a check. The car is beautiful and it only had 8 miles on it before it left the dealer lot. Within 24 hours I had obtained my new TL in a very painless fashion - never had to leave my own home! I highly recommend Lindsay Acura of Columbus, OH. My understanding is that they are the highest volume dealer in the state of Ohio. Thanks again for the great posts on this thread-it helped me determine when I found a good deal!
