I know it is late. I got my TL/Tech with 7 miles on it for $34,100 on October 14. I purchased at Columbus Acura, Dublin, OH. Jason Byerly was the salesperson. Very pleasant buying experience. :)
Re: Below Invoice Offer on 2010 TSX Base [mattdadee]

I did speak with Richard at the dealership. Unfortunately, the best he could offer was $399 (including taxes) for 36 months, 10,000 miles. Only first month payment and $85 license fee due at signing. They did not have the color combo I wanted in stock and would have to order it. They were very nice and explained that you got such a great deal because of intense competition with Columbus, OH dealerships nearby. I ended up with a lease on a 2010 Acura TSX base model (no navigation) from a local St. Louis, MO dealership for $412 per month (including taxes), which includes $500 worth of maintenance coupons to cover maintenance over the course of the 36 month lease. When you include the $500 value and deduct it from the monthly lease price, it is effectively $398 per month without maintenance included. The dealership also had the color combo I was looking for. Although I was hoping for $358 (including taxes), this deal seemed like the best I could do after a lot of research and pursuing other avenues with lease brokers, such as VIP Auto NY.

jmc.....nothing wrong with going local. You're getting a good deal. They're essentially selling you the car at invoice, and splitting the factory cash with you.....putting you below invoice. Good deal in my book. If/when I pull the trigger, it will be most likely be with Superior. You got the same quote from them I got. I went to Columbia last week. They said they'd match. But, although they did have 2-3 SH AWD-Techs, they didn't have the color I wanted (red basque pearl), and would have to do a dealer trade (probably with Superior). Both dealerships said they were buying up other dealer's stock. I noticed they had some on the lot from dealerships in Louisville, Lexington, and Columbus, OH. The originating dealers must feel like they can't move them, but Superior and Columbia feel they can. Good luck and let us know how things go on your deal.

There are only two Acura dealerships close to me.....4 if I expand my search from where I live (SW OH) to Columbus. So, I've talked to all of them. $37.5K seems to be the "walk point" for them. I can get $38K. Might be able to get $37,700 if I work them a little bit. $37K just won't buy that car around me. If I expanded my search to include Chicago (about a 5-6 hour drive for me), I might be able to trim a few hundred more off that price. Then again, I could go to Chicago and come away empty handed, too. Point being, even if you have a deal you think you is firm from an out-of-town dealer, doesn't mean the deal won't have some surprises once you make the trip. You really don't know what the deal is until you get into their store, and look over all the paper work. California's a little different. Many more dealerships. Lots more competition. If they're offering $37K on a SH AWD w/Tech, I'd jump on it. Their eating into their holdback, which they don't (might not) like to do. Dealerships around me just won't do it. That could change once the end of the model year hits, and they still have a lot of '09s left, with '10s hitting the lot. Just one caveat, the deal's not done once you agree on a price. Make sure you find out if the doc fees are padded, high margin accessories added, or any other "add-ons" before you sign papers. Also, if you have a trade, they may be low-balling your trade to make up for anything they lose on the new car sale. Get 2-3 quotes on your trade from other dealerships to get a feel for it's true trade-in value. There's lots of inventory around me. So, there isn't much of a desire for a dealership to do a dealer trade to get a specific color combo. So, it's not surprising they want you to take something they already have in stock.
39 Month Lease - What do you think?

09 TSX, non-tech. This was his first offer, I haven't countered yet. MSRP $29,920 Sale price $26,990( plus Honda finance bank fee $595, Doc fee $250, $10.50 temp tag, $931.98 taxes, = $28,777.48) $750 dealer market allowance which I'm using to get to the $26,990 price 39 months 12,000 miles per year .00250 money factor 62% residual ($18,550.40) $380.55 per month (including Franklin County tax) $454.55 due at signing (first payment and License) How much better can I do? I am in Columbus, OH.
The reason you are all getting a great deal

Have you seen the resale values lately? My '07 MDX with less than 20k on the odometer and has the tech/res, sport steps, front & rear garnish...is worth about $20,000 less than retail when new.. It's 15 months old. Of course this is the trade in value, but the retail is not that great either. I just talked to a dealer today, that won't even take SUV's in trade. I don't want to sound all doom and gloom, but this is probably not the best time to buy an suv. On the other hand, the MDX has been a great vehicle, and I plan on keeping it now till it dies :(
