Do you think I could negotiate for a better price by talking to other dealers? I'm in the Raleigh, NC area. Another dealer quoted me one price for the car and the final driving away price was almost $2K more and when I asked for a breakdown of the difference, I was told that I had to pay tax (3%) on the purchase price. I thought that was the case only if you bought the car, but not with leasing as you pay tax on the car payment. Can anyone help me out....please don't make fun of my lack of knowledge :)

2009 MDX Tech and Entertainment: by ppalonsky on Sat Aug 29 20:53:31 PDT 2009; Just bought a Cherry Red MDX today in the Raleigh, NC area. Paid $41,832 + TTL and a doc fee of $395. Inventory seems tight as I called several dealers and they didn't have many on their lots, so I was happy with the above price which represents $1500 below invoice (split dealer cash $1500 for me and $500 for them). We wanted either the Cherry Red or the Bali Blue and this red one just arrived the day we closed the deal. The deal was strickly for the MDX with no trade involved.

Good deal??: by jr1976 on Mon Aug 03 11:43:54 PDT 2009; Just leased an 09 TL base, royal blue pearl with taupe interior. Leased for 36 mths 10,000 miles year for $520 with $1000 down. Traded a 2008 Lexus IS 250 and rolled over $4,000 negative. Agreed upon price for the TL was $30,900. I'm in the Raleigh NC area and most dealers here were $100 more per month because of my trade. I finally found a dealer about 40 miles away to make it work by dropping their price and giving more for my trade. I feel like it is a good deal with little money out of pocket. :D

Best Price in North Carolina: by boluca on Tue Sep 16 12:16:45 PDT 2008; I am looking for a 2009 TSX, auto with technology. The best price I have found was $1400 under MSRP with no additional fees or accessories. This is in the Raleigh area. Are there any better deals out there in North Carolina? Would like to buy in the next two weeks. If I can't do better than that then I'll look at the Infiniti G35 or something else.

They were a little tough to deal with honestly initially, but I pointed to the salient facts (high inventory, decrease in 10-13% in sales compared to last year, gas prices, etc) and gave them a low offer on purpose initially to try to get as close to invoice - rebate as possible to meet in the middle so to speak. From the internet quotes, Stevenson in Wilmington is useless (gave me an offer that was $1000 off MSRP! what a laugh), but Crown in Greensboro ($5500 off MSRP was their initial offer) and Flow in Winston-Salem ($5300 off) had some very competitive internet offers without even haggling, but they were ~2-3 hours round trip away so less convenient. Leith in Raleigh has the most inventory but their quotes were a little higher. Didn't bother with Leith in Fayetteville or Apple Tree in Fletcher as they were farther away and smaller in size.
