They were a little tough to deal with honestly initially, but I pointed to the salient facts (high inventory, decrease in 10-13% in sales compared to last year, gas prices, etc) and gave them a low offer on purpose initially to try to get as close to invoice - rebate as possible to meet in the middle so to speak. From the internet quotes, Stevenson in Wilmington is useless (gave me an offer that was $1000 off MSRP! what a laugh), but Crown in Greensboro ($5500 off MSRP was their initial offer) and Flow in Winston-Salem ($5300 off) had some very competitive internet offers without even haggling, but they were ~2-3 hours round trip away so less convenient. Leith in Raleigh has the most inventory but their quotes were a little higher. Didn't bother with Leith in Fayetteville or Apple Tree in Fletcher as they were farther away and smaller in size.

I purchased my 04 TL 6 speed from Appletree for a great price, and they were courteous and straightforward. I compared prices at Acura dealers in Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Knoxville, TN, but Appletree/Fletcher, NC won my business, which will also include a RDX purchase in 2006. If you purchase at Appletree, the first drive down from the mountains on I-40 will be a blast for you! Good luck.

Just landed an '06 TL, silver/ebony w/ navi and love it, everything I hoped for and more. $32997 w/ destination $175 doc fee $989.91 NC state tax (3%) $69 tag OTD: $34,230 Purchased as Apple Tree Acura in Fletcher, NC outside of Asheville, NC. Had a great experience at the dealership when I picked up the car, very professional, straight shooters, very highly recommend them to anyone in the market. Thanks again to all.

My reasons were: (1) Nashville was too far to drive and the salesman was surprised I received a sale offer for about $650-$750 over invoice (they would not match); (2) Same story for Chattanooga, and they tried to talk me out of the color I wanted even though I wanted to order it (!); (3) Knoxville would order one but I doubted receiving any significant discount, and all new TLs on order were promised/sold, so no switching of cars/colors already on order; and (4) the relatively new salesman at Appletree in Fletcher/Asheville was congenial, met my special order request, offered to ship to Knoxville (I preferred the drive), switched out new tires for new tires that I purchased in Knoxville, and the Sales Manager approved a great deal, even though ordered (6 weeks wait). I have found the Service Dept. at the Knoxville Acura dealer to be outstanding, and willing to provide Warranty service (one visit), with NO questions asked as to where I purchased. Also, try Winston-Salem dealer for a potential end of June deal for a TL on the lot. Good luck. Potential buyers near western NC: by jkg on Thu Apr 01 05:21:38 PST 2004; For those potential buyers in, or near, Asheville, NC, I highly suggest that you visit Appletree Acura, Fletcher, NC (just south of Asheville on I-26, Airport road), to purchase an Acura TL (Honda dealership is adjacently located). The Sales manager with Acura is an outstanding person, and the salespeople that I have met are wonderful to work with. I suggest you visit during the last 2 days of any month, for efficient and cost-effective buying of any Acura model. They have a large TL inventory as of late March.
