Re: Solid deal in NC [ncmdx]

ncmdx: Got it from Performance in Chapel Hill. They were a little tough to deal with honestly initially, but I pointed to the salient facts (high inventory, decrease in 10-13% in sales compared to last year, gas prices, etc) and gave them a low offer on purpose initially to try to get as close to invoice - rebate as possible to meet in the middle so to speak. From the internet quotes, Stevenson in Wilmington is useless (gave me an offer that was $1000 off MSRP! what a laugh), but Crown in Greensboro ($5500 off MSRP was their initial offer) and Flow in Winston-Salem ($5300 off) had some very competitive internet offers without even haggling, but they were ~2-3 hours round trip away so less convenient. Leith in Raleigh has the most inventory but their quotes were a little higher. Didn't bother with Leith in Fayetteville or Apple Tree in Fletcher as they were farther away and smaller in size.

29K in Greensboro and Durham, NC for the Base TL no Navi. I got this with little effort. I am hoping for calls from the 2 dealers I am working with near month end and I plan to offer $28,500.

Greensboro, NC. At that price you do not get the reduced Acura Financing. No big deal to me since if I decide to buy I will go through my Credit Union.
Just bought 2008 Acura MDX with Tech
by mmedic on Sun Feb 24 02:07:48 PST 2008
This forum has been a great resource for me so I figured to contribute now that I purchased my new MDX. I live in Charlotte, NC area and here we have only one local dealer that in the past was not willing to deal. So I gave them a chance anyway but also started to open my horizon a bit and asked dealers that are a 1-2 hours away as well as dealers in Northern VA (I used to live there and still have family living there) as I've read on this forum that they tend to be the most aggressive. In the end I got several offers on a new MDX with Tech ranging from 39,750 to 42,000 (with the later coming from the local Charlotte dealer - when they told me that I started laughing. I honestly don't know why are they in business if they 're trying to rip people off). Note these on these prices you only have to pay taxes and everything else is included. Also, there are no accessories on the car except for wheel locks and mud guards. I ended up buying from Crown Acura in Greensboro, NC who offered $40,000 since they offered quite a bit more for my trade than the lowest dealer. But if you don't have a trade, you can have a new MDX with Tech for $39,750 + tax or even $39,500 + tax if you push a little harder. They even offered me Tech + Ent for $41,400. If you're interested in dealer and salespeople names, email me at mmedic at uncc dot edu. I hope this helps someone.
NC/SC Dealer experiences...help?!?!?!?!
by thickcommish1 on Sat Nov 24 09:35:31 PST 2007
I had a 2005 MDX touring, loved it, traded it and now miss it. I bought something else strictly because of the pricepoint and I heard that dealers are not coming off MSRP. Now unhappy with my current vehicle I have been researching the MDX again to see if I could financially swing it. After reading the boards I have seen folks getting deals below invoice (not often) and some over MSRP. I have requested quotes from dealers and they are mainly quoting at MSRP still around my area, ie Charlotte (Hendrick Acura), Greensboro (Crown Acura), and Winston Salem (Flow Acura). I experienced this in 05 and had to go to Greenville SC for the deal at Bradshaw Acura which at the time met me in the middle if I would take their available color of Sage/Quartz. I intend on requesting quotes again but want to have reasonable expectations. I do not mind driving for a deal but also have a trade in which I do not know if it will mess anything up or not. Any help or advise anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated!

I also live in NC and have been looking at the MDX. They have a lot of them on the lots in Greensboro and Winston Salem. The dealer in Cary, NC called me today saying that they have clearance priced all of their 2007 MDX's and are offering 2.9% financing. Good Luck!
