They were a little tough to deal with honestly initially, but I pointed to the salient facts (high inventory, decrease in 10-13% in sales compared to last year, gas prices, etc) and gave them a low offer on purpose initially to try to get as close to invoice - rebate as possible to meet in the middle so to speak. From the internet quotes, Stevenson in Wilmington is useless (gave me an offer that was $1000 off MSRP! what a laugh), but Crown in Greensboro ($5500 off MSRP was their initial offer) and Flow in Winston-Salem ($5300 off) had some very competitive internet offers without even haggling, but they were ~2-3 hours round trip away so less convenient. Leith in Raleigh has the most inventory but their quotes were a little higher. Didn't bother with Leith in Fayetteville or Apple Tree in Fletcher as they were farther away and smaller in size.

I'm retiring in Oct and have just started my search for an MDX Touring (Black/Saddle). So far, I've contacted Internet folks at Hendrick & Flow. Flow quoted $37,600 (includes dest.) on a Touring w/Nav. I've decided that I don't want to spend $2M+ on Nav so I wrote them back last night asking them for a quote on just a straight Touring. Told them I've seen prices ranging from $33.5-$35 on Edmunds.com and that I was looking to pay in the $34 range. Do you have a contact name at Leith I could call or email? I appreciate any contact info you could provide. Thx!

Message 2258 I found their prices to be high in comparison to other posts on the site. I also shopped Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary and ended up in Fayetteville. I got many songs and dances from dealers trying to tell me that other markets were repressed or some other excuse for the lower price quotes. Basically, I figured it was worth it to drive/fly to Maryland or New York to get it for the price I wanted and had been quoted. That was when I found Fayetteville's Accura dealership (Leith's Clearance Center).

I have yet to go to Cary or Fayetteville. I wont ask prices via e-mail or over the phone I perfer to go in person. If I purchase (no trade) in the next 30 days I think maybe 34.5 to 35k OTD for a 06 Auto with Nav.

Try Flow in Greensboro. Or even Leith in Fayetteville where I bought. I don't think we get the selection and competitiveness in NC others have since we're spread out more, but you'll find a decent deal if you're willing to drive a bit. And trade-in value matters big. It can swing the total deal from great to average. But when you find the exact car you want and its ready to go for you, sometimes you just gotta say do it.
