Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
I agree with twmdx re: reaching out to dealers in other states. I live in Northern NJ and right next to NYC and spoke to quite a few dealers in the general area (Acura of Manhattan, Open Road Wayne, DCH Montclair, Springfield Acura, Park Ave Acura) but couldn't get a fair price from them. Plus no one was willing to "throw in" accesories for free or even a subsidized price. I eventually bought a 2011 Tech from Pohanka Acura (last weekend) for $46,000 OTD (incld. 7% NJ sales tax) and also got a host of accesories for free or maybe a subsidized price, depending on how you slice and dice the build-up. And I got the accesories added in after I had already negotiated the price. 1) All weather floor mats 2) Roof package (rails + cross bars) 3) Advanced running board 4) Wheels locks 5) 7 year interior protection What I didn't get was the 0.9% APR financing, which is okay. It all depends on the time of the week/month because each dealer's appetite to offer a discount varies based on a multitude of factors - inventory, demand, competition, buyer desperation, holiday sales, etc.
UPDATE: Dealer said they made a mistake and gave me numbers for a 30 month lease not 36. I stood my ground and clearly stated that when I sat down with the salesman I wanted a 36 month with 15k a year miles lease My copy of the paperwork clearly states 36 month lease @ $303 a month. They had changed their copy to say 30 months. That pissed me off big time at which point some yelling and name calling started. They tried to push me into the 30 month lease which by they way is a good lease program. By this point i was pissed my wife was telling me to calm down. The general manager really pissed me off my saying it was both are faults, the dealer and mine. That was it, called my lawyer on the spot, she instructed me what to do (proper way to have them void all the paperwork) got the money down back and walked out. OPEN ROAD WAYNE ACURA NJ STAY AWAY - total bait and switch, liars, very poor business practice. I Will be placing a complaint with BBB
it's from open road acura @ wayne, NJ. I just got delivery of my vehicle...good dealers and nice buying experience, msg me if you need referral. I spoke to few dealers but no one come near this price..only pohanka acura in VA, I recomend them too if DC/VA is near to anyone.
I recently (on Aug 21) purchased a 2009 Acura TL AWD/Tech Package for $37,500 plus TTL. It is silver outside and taupe/ebony inside. They threw in wheel locks but nothing else and they would not throw in all weather floor mats. I purchased it from Open Road Acura in Wayne, NJ. They did not have many AWD/Tech left (only 4 in the lot) although they have another dealership in East Brunswick. I live on Long Island.
Thanks for the heads up !
