Folks, The new 2007 Acura TL w/navi (carbon gray/ebony) is in da house. Picked it up yesterday from Ramsey Acura in NJ. Price (including invoice): $33725 Sales Tax: $2360 Doc fees: $185 Registration/Title fees: $351 (for 4 years) Temp plate/NJ tire fee: $10.50 The only thing I regret is not negotiating the propack (matching splash guards, wheel locks, all season mats) before agreeing to buy. I think I could've had them throw in a couple of things if I had brought it up early in the process, but I wasn't sure what I wanted till the end. Looks like I can get the propack for $225 over the internet. The buying process was very pleasant. Bill D. the sales guy was friendly and helpful without being pushy. *After* the purchase, he spent about 1 hour going over all the features of the car and the thick manual package instead of trying to push us out the door. The car was presented nicely -- with a full tank of gas and sparkly clean, inside and out. George the finance guy threw a bunch of options at me but didn't try to force anything. He did emphasize I needed to get Gap insurance since I financed the whole purchase, but I passed on that. I did purchase the extended warranty (7 years/100k) and tire/road hazard. ext. warranty - $1194 (comprehensive) road hazard - $375 I have 30 days to cancel. We are planning on keeping the car for many years so I decided to go with the warranty. As Spyder helpfully pointed out in an earlier quote I checked the exclusions list and it does not mention GPS/navi or airbags. But I don't see it specifically included, either. The extensive range of electronics in the Acura is why I'm really interested in the warranty. The dealer said that it is covered but I will call Zurich (warranty provider) on Monday to confirm. In conclusion, I might've gotten a better price elsewhere but I liked the dealer and the location is very convenient to me. Do not just walk into the dealership without getting internet quotes. If you are a credit union member call them. I got a quote for $33707 from my CU but the dealer was out of the way for me. I will post my driving experience on a different forum in a couple of weeks. Recently purchased a 2004 RSX Auto for $20,100. The vehicle was purchased from Springfield Acura in Union NJ. The buying experience was haggle free and fast. I recommend this dealer if you want to fair price and pleaseing buying experience.

I was offered $31,900 last night on a silver 6 speed (obviously manual) with Summer tires (No Navi). I wanted to pay $30,500 but the dealer wasn't interested... Does anyone have insight on where the breaking point is on this? I wonder if another $500 would have sealed the deal. What's your sense of the premium for sticks in So Cal at the moment? Apparently there are only 15 or so around.
