Re: Latest & best [shtirlets]

I ended up getting mine from Park Ave Acura in Maywood NJ. Troy was the guy that I dealt with. I ended getting the car for almost $1800 under invoice. Having shopped at least 6 dealers, this was the best price. There are some who obtained 'remarkable' deals, but the numbers are the numbers, and dealers arent in the biz to lose money on sales. Even without plates/doc fee, I would expect an out of pocket of about $1100 ($595 plus tax + 1st mt).

I am thinking about going tomorrow to Morande (then Schaller, then Executive) and and trying for the following on a 2008 6 sp MT no navi: $299 per month, 15k miles; no cap cost. Any chance or am smoking something? Then national deal is $299/mo, 19k and 605 CC on the 5sp auto. thanks
TSX lease- national deal on 6MT
by cfrago on Wed Jan 30 04:26:11 PST 2008
I am thinking about the national deal ($299/mo, 36 month, 10k/yr, 605 cap cost, 16765 res) but the ad say on 5sp auto. Will I be able to receive this deal on a 6sp MT? Will the dealer "deal" more? ie, no cap cost and maybe 12 or 15k per year for $299?

Of course there are tons of sedans at or below the price range of the TL-S. It really depends what you're looking for. But: Caddy CTS: I think they may already be discounting them...! But, good reviews, imho much improved exterior/interior appearance. But, first year. Also rwd which may or may not matter to you. And a bit more blingy (can't believe an old man such as myself is using the word "bling") than some. Lexus ES350: Powerful. luxurious. But soft and FWD which may or may not matter to you... Lexus IS250: If you go rwd/MT, not horribly underpowered but probably pales in comparison to 328i. Honda Accord V6: Well, it's an Accord. Toyota Camry V6/Hybrid: Well, it's a Camry. I personally think they did a nice job with the evolution of the G35. I agree it's still not as handsome as the TL, but in my mind it went from a 7 to an 8. Especially like the new G35 grille. Also, new TL for '09. Probably debuting in later '08. Would that bother you if you bought an '08 and the '09 was a stunner (hopefully, it will be...)?
Residuals on 6MT vs. Auto TL
by soylentgreen on Mon Dec 17 11:15:56 PST 2007
I've been driving manual tranny cars and my current TL is a 6MT. Are there any significant differences in residual values between MT vs. automatic cars? One dealer told me 6MT TL's may sit longer in the lot than automatic ones, since not all TL buyers prefer manual trannies.

I'm in the same boat man, the difference is the MF (money factor) which is the interest for a lease. The current MF on the Accord is .0027 ( or 6.48%) and the TSX is .00068 (or 1.632%). If i look at the EX-L Navi MT I want with a sticker of 27800, and say i can get it for 1,000 over Invoice at 26,328 the base payment is 252.56, but the interest is 117.62 making the total payment w/o tax 370.18 ( i took tax out as each state is different). Now look at the TSX Navi MT, with a stick of 30700 and an estimated sale price of 28700 ( my friend go this for this 2 months ago). The base payment is 319.67 (which is higher then the accord) but the interest is only 31.21, making the total payment w/o tax 350.87. So you can see it's not the MSRP and the sale price, or even the residual in this case as the Accord is currently 62% and the TSX is 56% (meaning with the TSX you are financing more of the car's value as they project it to be worth less at lease end then the accord). The Moneyfactor or interest is killing the payment. Now for me a few other things add in - one being the TSX needs Premium, Accord does not. Also the Accord gets about 2 or 3 MPG more then the TSX and it's cheaper to insure. Finally - and this is purley subjective - the accord is a bigger car, which i prefer. That's the long answer to your question. I've got a hard decision ahead of me, and i'll be making it this week.
