Acura MDX base: by kunjus on Mon Jul 07 16:30:42 PDT 2008; Last week I bought a new MDX base model for 35650 + tax in Detroit MI. Though I never liked the dealer, it was my nearest dealer. So I had to take it. I am hoping the deal was an OK deal and I haven't given away money to teh dealer.

2006 TL w/Navi in Michigan: by aaron_mi on Wed Dec 14 20:43:54 PST 2005; Picking up my new TL on Monday. (Blue/Quartz) I talked with 2 dealers in the Detroit Metro area where I live (there are 4) after getting a quote from Open Road Acura in NJ to see if they could match it (to save me a plane ticket and 11 hour drive). One dealership (Suburban Acura)would not entertain matching the offer and actually told me it was below invoice. I replied with a detailed breakdown of the invoice vs. the accessories and cost. He applauded my effort but still wouldn't do the deal or want to talk any farther. Not rude, but obviously not used to dealing with internet pricing (even though he was the internet manager). Acura of Troy did deal and was very courteous and prompt. The salesmen gave us a thorough test drive and explained the features. The number we agreed on was $34,000 which includes the rear wing spoiler, moonroof visor, all-season floor mats, and protection package (wheel locks, trunk tray, splash guards). The extras were documentary fee $75, 6% sales tax, title and license plate transfer fees for a total of $36,142.50 Basically, I paid invoice for the car and MSRP for the accessories. I thought that was pretty fair as they had to install them and they need some profit Anyway, I got a subsequent lower bid from the NJ dealer (competing against their sister dealership) dropping it another $150 but that wasn't worth the trip.

Changes for 2006, Prices in MI/NJ: by aaron_mi on Fri Dec 02 19:12:02 PST 2005; In the market for a 2006 TL w/Navi. I also wanted the rear wing spoiler, moonroof deflector and Mats/Locks/Rear tray package priced separately. First offer from a local dealer (plus Tax,title,license): $32,900 2005 Acura TL with Navigation System $33,800 2006 Acura TL with Navigation System $34,550 with the above accessories on the 2006.(750 which is reasonable) He said the only difference for the 2006 TL is the addition of the tire pressure monitoring system, blue backlighting for the radio, HVAC display and clock along with a $250 price increase. I checked with a dealer in NJ that had a great deal (non-navi) for a 2006 on ebay (new, it's still there) and asked them about Navi models. They had all 3 of my color combinations that I would accept. They offered me the car at $34,000 and also threw in mudguards. I think it's a decent deal(?). But an 11 hour drive. :( Chicago is only 4 hours so maybe I will check Rizzo and Napleton as mentioned by a couple other forum members.
