Looking for a good price in Boston
by eagle21 on Mon Sep 07 04:38:19 PDT 2009
Hi, I was wondering if anyone got a good deal on a Base MDX over at Acura of Boston and also any advice when to go get one. I know I just missed a marketing kickback from Acura for $2000. But, I was think of waiting till the 2010 model comes to replace 09. Any advice is welcomed. I have been looking for a used MDX, but either the price is expensive w/ low miles or price is inexpensive w/ high miles and the leather seats cracked, so I am looking at brand new when even the 07 and 08 models are priced at around 33k to 37k which is nearing brand new anyhow. Thanks!!! :D

I would check with other dealers, try Acura of Boston and Prime Acura. With the $2000 dealer cashback you should be no more than $41.090. They are still making almost $1200 at that number with the 3% holdback. You should be able to get them down to 40,600. Otherwise try to get some freebies like all weather mats, cargo liner, side steps, etc....... Also the $2000 cashback can be combined with the special interest rate.

We find it much better than the 06 Accord EX-L V6 we came from. It is stiff but at least absorbs bumps much better. Definitely not as planted as the 03 Audi A6 we had previously but at least I won't be at the dealer EVERY month. I like the car more and more every chance I drive it (It's my wife's daily driver).
Horrible deals everybody. [GTIGR]

Thanks for the details about your purchase. I also feel the quote I got was too high. I am going to visit another dealer or two and see if I can get a deal closer to 28K for a Tech.

Here in Boston, my rates went up $300 a year from a 2006 EX-L V6 Accord to the TSX. Since my payments went down almost $300 a year on the new lease, it was a wash. $900 a year seems outrageous. I'm even being surcharged for a fender bender 3 years ago. I think my total premium is $1600 and insurance here is $$$$$$$.
