MDX 2007 with Tech
by cakes99 on Sat May 19 04:27:14 PDT 2007
Just bought a MDX 2007 with Tech package from Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda MD. $500.00 over invoice, no trade no add on options. Also had the same offer from Radley's Acura in Northern Virginia. We did try to get the vehicle at invoice price and they would not do it. $500.00 seems to be the lowest they will go.
2006 TL NAV buying experience - repost
by tlnav06buyer on Sat Nov 05 05:06:13 PST 2005
Just got my 2006 TL NAV in Royal blue with Quartz from Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda after waiting 3 months for the new 2006 models. I requested quotes from a bunch of dealers in the area via the internet. Most of the other dealers in the area did not respond or came back with nonsense designed to get me in so they could pull the standard tricks. The internet sale mgrs (sorry no names, rule 6) of Chevy Chase Acura (Bethesda, MD) and Criswell Performance Cars (Annapolis, MD) both responded promptly with very good prices. Both quotes were easy to understand and provided out the door pricing per my request. Good job guys. Too bad the other dealer had such a hard time with such a simple request. The Chevy Chase internet sale manager was the first to respond so I talked to him first. The guy really knows the Acura and Honda product line and had lot's of 1st hand knowledge with both (loves his Ridgeline P/U). I found him to be very straightforward and honest, and we were able to work out the details quickly to get a great out the door price. I drove over and picked up my car yesterday and it's great. Love the Royal Blue, looks great day or night.

I first starting looking at Acura's a week ago, after assuming for some time I was going to buy an Infiniti. After one test drive, I knew the Acura TL had it all over the Inf G35, and my wife and daughter were totally snowed by the Acura, even though I still liked the exterior stying on the G35 better. But insider I had to admit the Acura was much better arranged and comfortable. I test drove the Acura on Thursday 10/13 at ChevyChaseAcura in Bethesda, Md. The saleswoman, who claimed to have lived in Japan for many years, seemed helpful and I told her she would likely see me again on Saturday, when I planned to make my decision and my purchase. Early Saturday morning I dropped her a note telling her exactly what I wanted and that I was willing to pay $32,500 off the lot price. . I then dropped off a similar note to the infiniti salesman, except in that note I did not name a price, but asked for his best offer on the G35. I did it this way because the Acura was the car i wanted and I didn't want to be making an offer on the Infiniti, while I was predisposed to offer to buy the TL. By 3 pm I had not heard back from either of them. I was a little surprised and getting restless as I had it in my mind to have this done that day. Instead of sitting by the phone I drove out to another Acura dealer in Gaithersburg Md., Rosenthal Acura. I was told that the only 2005's left were sticks, and they had completely sold out of all other 2005s. He quickly and without prompting gave me a price for the 2006 of 37K. I told him I was committed to not paying a penny more than 33K. While I was out there, the salesgirl from the first dealer finally called my cell. She said $32,500 was completely ridiculous proposition and I would never find a TL that cheap. I said I had consulted many Acura purchasers and I thought that was very realistic for a 2005 w/navigation. She said I should make that arugment to the manager directly as it would mean more coming from me. I took that to mean she was out of the loop and there was no point dealing with her or talking to her. As a former MG owner, I asked the salesman at Rosenthal if I could try out the stick. He quickly wheeled a demo around and it handled beautifully and I remembered the satisfaction and joy that can only come from driving a car with a stick. But I went home that night without a car, because he only had black and the wife didnt want that color. On Sunday night, the Rosenthal salesman called and said someone who had just bought a gold TL w/nav had turned it back it, decided to buy an "06. I said I would come out on Monday afternoon and look at it. Before I did, I went back to see the manager of Chevy Chase Acura, because it seemed they had a larger inventory (guess why) that Rosenthal. I asked the manager if e had a 2005 that would suit me and that I was willing to pay $33K for it, total cost. He said that was ridiculous and turned back to what he was doing. The salesman at Rosenthal took me to the lot to show me the gold car with automatic. I said I was still interested in the black exterior stick. (I had convinced the wife that with the parchment interior, the black exterior would look great and she relented, she just didnt want black in and out). I decided at that point that i didnt love the gold, especially after the salesman said that the guy who turned it back had decided HE didn't like the color. A few moments later I had bought the car at the price I had in mind all along. The guys at Rosenthal couldn't have been any nicer, I never felt they were playing any games, and they seemed motivated to sell cars. I understood now why they had no 2005 cars and Chevy Chase had many. And that, as they say, is the rest of the story.

I just made a deal for a 2005 TL. This is what I got: Abyss Blue Pearl Camel interior Navigation system Automatic transmission OTD price: $34,959. This price also includes wheel locks, mud guards, all season mats, and trunk tray. This was from Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda, MD. It was very close between them and Rosenthal Acura in Gaithersburg. I contacted dealers via the Edmunds and KBB internet service. I got real quotes via e-mail, and used that to get the best deal. Thank you to everyone on the forum, as your suggestions helped greatly.
Re: TL With Automatic & Nav in Washington, DC Area [montgomctymd]

Thank you so much, montgomctymd!! I live in Frederick, MD and work at Bethesda, MD. I had some families coming from out of town this past weekend and I didn't make it to their "red tag sale" at Rosenthal Acura. The internet quote I got from Rosenthal Acura (8/20 Saturady) is $33,670 (including $570 destination) for TL w/ Nav. So you are doing really GREAT and now I know what to ask for!! So thanks again!!
TL With Automatic & Nav in Washington, DC Area

In the "spirit of Delmar", since I benefitted from the information offered by others in this forum, I thought it only fair to share the data I gathered during my recent quest to buy a TL with automatic and navigation in the Washington, DC area (Montgomery County, MD, to be exact). Here are the prices I obtained using the "request a quote" feature on the Acura web site. All prices include destination fee: Rosenthal Acura (Gaithersburg, MD) - 32,573 + 95 proc. (price received in person) Pohanka Acura (Chantilly, VA) - 32,890 + 249 proc. Chevy Chase Acura (Bethesda, MD) - 33,099 + 100 proc.-incl. wheel locks/sp. gards) Frankel Acura (Cockeysville, MD) - 33,465 + 100 proc. - incl. "protection pkg." Criswell Acura (Annapolis, MD) - 33,600 + ~100 proc. - incl. "protection pkg." Karen Radley Acura (Woodbr., VA) - 33,500 + 245 proc. After gathering quotes from the above dealers (with the exception of Rosenthal Acura, which is closest to me and where I did my test drives), I stopped by Rosenthal during their "red tag sale" ;) this weekend. After a small amount of negotiating, the salesman went to "the manager" to see what he was willing to do. The salesman came back and said he'd give me the car at invoice if I would take a car they had in inventory (not a problem, since they had 1 with the color combo I wanted - silver/quartz). Although the price wasn't as low as some were able to negotiate in LA, I didn't get the feeling I was going to do much better than this in my area and didn't want to wait until the selection deteriorated. In any case, I'll be picking up the car next weekend and am sure I'll be happy with it. Hopefully, this info will be helpful to those shopping in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area. P.S. - Delmar - thanks for all of the helpful info.
