Got my TL Type-S today. Price below.

Last night I went to Criswell Acura in Annapolis and had a great test drive. I stated earlier that I have always been a "Honda" man, so when I got in this car I felt right at home. It just fit me perfectly, and wow!, what a fantastic all-around great automobile. It was love at first drive. Unfortunately, they would not give me one penny of the $2,000 cash from Acura toward my purchase price; they were dead set on "invoice". I called the guy from Radley Acura in Falls Church, VA as soon as I left Criswell and told him the color I wanted (carbon bronze over taupe) and they had it in stock. He quoted me $33,837 which equates to invoice minus the $2,000. I asked for a ballpark figure on my trade and what the doc fees were. He said "come in tomorrow and we'll get it done". Yes, they are open on Sunday halleluya! I went today and haggled a bit over my trade, but in the end saved almost $900 versus the best deal from Criswell. This is a GREAT car at a GREAT price right now. I paid $33,700 including destination because he misquoted the doc fees and I made him eat the difference (well half the difference to be exact, about $125). All-in-all, a great experience from Hadley and I am the happy owner of a new '08 TL-S! Thanks to everyone who posts and is willing to share solid information on these forums. I'll post my ownership experience after a few more miles, but I couldn't be happier.

Best prices (so far) ... Chevy Chase Acura at $37,499 (includes free oil changes and tire rotations for 7 years). Also, Criswell Acura (Annapolis) came in at $37,199 (they're a bit further away from where we live). MD only charges around $100 for processing whereas VA hammers you for $299 (just keep this in mind when shopping for best prices). Pohanka (Chantilly, VA) came in at $37,592 (plus the higher processing fees and a VA business use tax added on). Rosenthal (Gaithersburg, MD) came in at $38,600 ... qauite an insulting price, compared to the others.

I purchased same equipped TL at Tischer for about 300 over invoice in Nov. At that time it was a very good deal. Now I think you can do better or throw in few extras based on what I been reading in the recent posts. I didnt quote with Chevy Chase or VA dealers....stuck with Baltimore/Annapolis area. I favored Tischer since on the way to work...easy in/out for service from I-295. You may want to consider service dept bennies as well vs just price alone. I did in person and internet. I used the internet initially to establish pricing market and to reach out to dealers farther away. But I believe you'll get your best price in person. I did use Email/phone call with the salesman to speed things along. Best play is not to be in a hurry or too eager to buy. Do your research, set your price (with a few extras) and stick. Let the dealing cool off if not meeting your bottom line...they'll come around if not too unreasonable. Keep the prices on same par with others - try not to get too mixed up with TTL and other fees. Looking to purchase another TL for a friend next month. Please let me know how you faired. Good luck - S/Baltimore
2006 TL NAV buying experience - repost

Just got my 2006 TL NAV in Royal blue with Quartz from Chevy Chase Acura in Bethesda after waiting 3 months for the new 2006 models. I requested quotes from a bunch of dealers in the area via the internet. Most of the other dealers in the area did not respond or came back with nonsense designed to get me in so they could pull the standard tricks. The internet sale mgrs (sorry no names, rule 6) of Chevy Chase Acura (Bethesda, MD) and Criswell Performance Cars (Annapolis, MD) both responded promptly with very good prices. Both quotes were easy to understand and provided out the door pricing per my request. Good job guys. Too bad the other dealer had such a hard time with such a simple request. The Chevy Chase internet sale manager was the first to respond so I talked to him first. The guy really knows the Acura and Honda product line and had lot's of 1st hand knowledge with both (loves his Ridgeline P/U). I found him to be very straightforward and honest, and we were able to work out the details quickly to get a great out the door price. I drove over and picked up my car yesterday and it's great. Love the Royal Blue, looks great day or night.
