08 MDX Tech - Bad Experience in Memphis: by phillybigeasy on Wed Jan 02 19:38:53 PST 2008; Had a decent deal for 08 MDX w/Tech ($40,902 - $44,631 out the door). No dealer options on Aspen White w/parchment int. Dealer tried to low ball my 04 Base MDX trade in. Knew what value KBB and Edmunds trade in value was, but they offered me ~ $4500 less than fair trade in value. Sales Mgr kept telling me that, according to Edmunds, people are paying $44,188 for this vehicle and they couldn't sell the car for $500 over invoice and give me $16k for my trade in. I told him nobody pays MSRP for a vehicle unless it is in demand, which the MDX is not (they had plenty on the lot), or anywhere close to MSRP. I asked him if I didn't have a trade-in, would he then tell me the price for the car is now $44,188? I told him the "S" stands for "suggested". If Acura dealers are going to act like American car dealers, I may as well buy an American car, that way I know not to expect much in trade in.

Stopped in to Acura of Memphis in early Sept and they didn't offer invoice or below for an '07 - thought I'd wait for the 08's to come out. Just wondering what kind of deals being offered in the area.

07 Tech in Memphis: by phillybigeasy on Tue Sep 04 18:00:10 PDT 2007; I'll be buying an Acura MDX by end of year in Memphis. Stopped by Acura of Memphis and got the runaround (salesman,sales mgr, general mgr), only to be offered $1000 off sticker. Anyone have any better luck? May go to Jackson, MS where I bought my '04.

It has 87k miles (mostly highway since I use car for work in sales) but in perfect condition. Beige with professionally installed Sirius satellite radio. I have to replace by end of year. Dealer offered me $18k on trade in. Interested? By the way, I just moved to Memphis.

$439 a month: by teddyoh on Mon Aug 06 19:11:05 PDT 2007; What the heck!? I was quoted the same terms for a 2008 TSX with Nav. $2500 down, 36 months at 12k miles. They specific said they don't make deals on the new models other than the current incentives. My per month quote was $439. Either you are living in a state without taxes, or I am getting royally screwed. I know my residual was 62%, but the manager was out and the salesman didn't know the current money factor. Should I walk away from this deal?
