Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
Hi, I am new to these forums. I just landed a job that would require me to drive to work since there are no trains or buses within a 8 mile radius. I have gone in to the dealership to look at the TSX and absolutely love it. I have no experience with negotiating with a dealer and was hoping someone can give me advice. The dealer closest to me is Plaza Acura on Nostrand Ave. For those in NYC, what are some deals you got for the TSX (AUTO, W/O TECH PACKAGE)? Also I've driven my dad's 2005 Honda Accord EX-L from time to time. What are some benefits the TSX has over the Accord? Thank you in advance.
OTD = out the door = final total price you pay to walk out the door with the car, to include everything (vehicle, any and all fees, taxes, surcharges). Typically OTD is without accessories, but sometimes people include accessories in OTD prices, so they'll negotiate/say: I want/got this car + roof rails + advanced steps for $XYZ OTD. Also sometimes OTD includes trade-in, but as trade-ins vary it's better to post OTD without trade-in for helping people to comparison shop. I prefer to negotiate OTD prices, which helps me compare prices between dealerships and in different states. This way, if I want to pay $10,000, I don't care if they sell the car for $9,500 with $500 in taxes/fees or $500 for the car with $9,500 in taxes/fees.
I HAVE ORDERED A 2010 WITH A ADVANCE PKG. ITS DUE IN IN JUNE. IT WILL BE ANYONE'S GUESS WHAT THE FINANCE RATES WILL BE. HOWEVER, IF I WERE TO LEASE IT TODAY BASE ON 15K/YR AND NO MONEY DOWN IN NEW YORK STATE AND ASSUMING A 595 BANK FEE, WHAT WOULD BE MY PAYMENT? IS THERE A LEASE CALCULATOR OUT THERE THAT IS ACCURATE AND REALISTIC. I DID HAVE ONE THAT WAS IN EXCELL, BUT IT'S BEEN DELETED FROM MY HARDDRIVE. THANKS
I need all the help I can get before going to the dealership. I really like the MDX and will like to get it. CUrrently I have a 2005 Nissan Murano and still have 2 more years payment (HUGE mistake). I bought the car new off the lot and pay $560 a month for it, I cannot believe I signed up for 72months to pay for it. Anyway, I am ready for another car, my murano is a basic S AWD ; I need a car with technology package at this point. Here are my questions; (please make answer as simple as possible as I am truly clueless...LOL) 1) Is it better for me to trade in my car at a place like carmax or sell privately? The blue book value is $12,500 for a trade-in and I owe $9500 on the car. 2) I want to lease the MDX; I saw a special for $459 but I don't know what the fine print means. I really don't want to pay more than I am paying now. But I really really need the technology package 3. What other hidden fees/cost should i try to avoid? BTW, I have good credit and I am looking in the Baltimore, MD area. Thanks in advance for your help
Went to a dealer in south Bay Area yesterday and getting close but stuck on $34000+Tax and Fees. I asked for trunk tray and all-season floor mats as throw-ins. Dealer insist they want at least $200 dollars more but I would not add one dime more (they didn't even show me how to break down the fees and just told me in California it's 11% of the car price in total). I compared 2009 TL and 2008 TL and know exactly what Acura is trading off. Boasting of advanced technology, but side mirrors are not dimmed, no ventillated seats, no rain sensing wipers, and I don't think they have light under the hood. It's a good car, but I really don't want to offer more. What do you guys think? Thanks, NLY
