Destination charge is part of the invoice of the vehicle and is not negotiable. You may get them down a similar amount to the destination charge but it, in itself, is not negotiable. PF, never heard it called that before, or dealer fee is different in nearly every state. Some states, by law, limit the amount a dealer can charge. In IL it is around $152 and all dealers will charge that amount and will not negotiate or remove it. Again, you may negotiate that same amount off the price of the car but the "dealer fee" will still be on your bill of sale. In some states the dealer fee is a large amount like you describe and I can imagine it may be negotiable if there is no statute that limits it or something similar to that.

TSX Sport Wagon Lease by max_anderson on Wed Dec 07 12:17:17 PST 2011

Hi Car_Man, Here is the deal presented to me by my local Acura dealer on a 2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon w/Tech for December '11. These are for a 36-month/12K year lease. I will qualify for top tier credit. Keep in mind, we have to pay sales tax for the full "purchase" price of the vehicle in Illinois (awful, I know). I had them roll the taxes into my monthly payments: Money Factor: .00190 Residual: 60% MSRP: $35,695.00 Monthly Payment: $615.00 Only first month, license, and doc fees due at signing. Are these numbers accurate? Is this a reasonable deal? It looks like they based the payment off of full MSRP. When I check the True Market Value, it looks like the TMV is pretty close to MSRP but still... I need to move quickly so any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone, what is the best price for 2011 Acura MDX w/ ADVANCED package (no RES). I went through several pages but I don't see anyone having purchased an MDX w/ ADVANCED package.

Re: 2011 Acura TSX w/Tech = $31,650 + tax [ronsteve] by m6user on Sat Jun 18 09:07:36 PDT 2011

Many states have limits on what a dealer can charge for a doc fee. IL for example has a limit of around $150. Never seen a dealer in IL charge less than that but that is the most they can charge. I believe many states have similar limits and some as low as $75, maybe even lower. In those states that don't have set limits, you're right, they are all over the place and can be as much as $500 from what I've read in these forums. Some states have no sales tax at all and some are 5% and some are as high as 10%. That is why it is stupid to report "out the door" prices in these forums. The sales price and the dealer doc fee are the two things that are really important. If a dealer charges a $500 doc fee, of course they can go a little lower on the price of the car. If the dealer can only charge $75 than he may demand a little higher sales price. The two deals could be for the same amount but look different. If you consider high dealer finance charges, low-ball trade-in value, high doc fees, lots of dealer add ons at huge markups, volume bonuses from the manufacturer...hell, they can sell the new car for waaaaay below invoice and still make money.
