Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
Hi, This is a deal on a 2010 Acura TL + Tech. Can somebody help me and let me know if the deal is good or should I keep looking. This is from Arlington Acura in Palatine 1275 E. Dundee Road, Palatine, IL 60074 I would really appreciate if someone can tell me if this is a good quote. I also don't understand why a rebate would be taxable? Is this legitimate? Sale Price: 32,500 Destination: 860 Total: 33,360 Taxable Rebate: 3,000 Total: 36,360 EFF: 25 Doc Fee: 154.38 Total Taxable Amt. 36,539.38 Bartlett Taxes X .0725 Sales Tax: 2,649.10 Total w/Taxes: 39,188.48 Transfer of Plates 120.00 Cook County New Car Tax 15.00 Total before rebate:39,323.48 Rebate -3,000 Total OTD: 36,323.38 Thanks
I picked up my base 2008 TL two weeks ago for $27,500 (plus TTL) without the special financing (was told could not be combined). I got an email yesterday from Arlington Acura in IL that the $3500 can now be combined with the special financing. I replied asking for a price quote if I intend to take advantage of the special financing and got ~$27,400 for a base TL and ~29,500 for one with Navi. I regret not waiting a little onger before purchasing as I could have saved about $2000 over the entire term of the loan. Hope helps someone get a better deal. I do know that the color combination I got (and wanted - Carbon Bronze with Taupe interior) is no longer available at any local dealer - trying to make myself feel better here :)
Just signed the papers on a 2008 Acura MDX with Tech and Power Tailgate Package ($45,005 MSRP & $40,946 Invoice) for $36,075 + ttl from Acura of Libertyville in Libertyville, IL. I had a trade-in but you can get that price without the trade-in. I got the price before the trade-in then negotiated on the trade. I could have got it cheaper by a few more dollars ($200 - $400) but I thought I'll let them make some money :) ! Email me (abhmal@gmai.com) and I can give you the salesman's name (let him know Abhay send you). They have more than 30 2008 Acura MDX in stock. This dealership has no other dealerships (the owner actually approved my deal since "the other guy" was out for lunch) and therefore I believe they are willing to negotiate and make a deal more so than other big chain dealers. No other dealer (Continental, Muller, Napleton, Pauly, Arlington, Joe Rizza or McGrath) the Chicago area was even close to this price (all were at least $1,000+ apart). They all even warned me that I was being lied too.
Was at the Chicago Auto Show and started thinking about the RDX. The Auto Show website has RDX offers for base at $30,600. Awesome deal! However, I am moving to CO from Chicago and I don't want to pay taxes twice, so I will wait to purchase when I move in June. Here is a link to their RDX (Arlington Acura in Palatine, IL) priced just over $30K. Great price for this car! http://www.drivechicago.com/heart.php?setsub=3725&vehicle_id=262339&passed_make=- Acura (if the link doesn't work, go to www.drivechicago.com and search for Acura RDX). Since Acura isn't hitting targets on the RDX, they are offering deals, which I believe is a first for Acura. Incentives weren't in the Acura dialogue a year or two ago.
The best quote I have from Arlington (if you're speaking of Rohrman) is $500 over invoice. I bought my TL from them and would have liked to buy my MDX from them, but I have multiple other dealers quoting me invoice or below ($1,000 in my pocket is better in mine than Rohrman's). After advising the sales manager that they are not competitive with others in the area, he told me he wasn't interested in selling a car at invoice and not making any money (ha, ha, yeah right, he must thinking I am really naive to think that they won't make any money). Oh well, I have 3 other dealers who are ready for my business and hopefully tomorrow I can close something with one of them. In the end, I will be below invoice, and I am happy with anything below invoice. I will post who I decide to purchase from once the deal is concluded.
