Hi Mike I live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I currently lease and MDX, so the dealer I used last time is trying to get me to come back and lease again with them. I used that as my starting point and am now shopping other dealers with that offer. FYI, all Acura dealerships get a 3% (of MSRP) holdback on each Acura sold. This is not something that they advertise, but is something I am using to my advantage. Also, I would wait until the end of the month when the dealers are more motivated to move a car to reach sales goals as opposed to making a huge profit. Let me know if this helps. I would be more than happy to provide the dealership names if you want to go that route. rajosmom

hpowders- I too live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and have been shopping around to lease the new MDX. My current MDX lease does not expire until July, I have been shopping around and have found the dealers in our area to be very willing to negotiate at 700-800 below invoice, although they are tacking on the destination charge and advertising fees to that number (which makes me come out at invoice). I agree with what you are saying about the dealerships being slow. However, I feel that the lease deals are really good right now and I am afraid of what will happen after 4-31. Junk = window etching, premium tire package and full maintenance on car and roadside assistance. My impression is they act like they "give" this to you but in reality this is standard on every car they sell. When I was talking to them I told them I didn't want any of that stuff, but they gave it to me anyway. I'm sure the costs are baked in somewhere. They did not do the protection package scam (all weather mats and tire locks) which was like $500+ at other places. They did hit me with a $500 acquisition fee for the lease which also includes gap insurance to cover any difference in value of car and value on lease in the event of an accident. I don't know if that is a real cost or if I got scammed. AT this point, it doesn't matter and at least I'm covered. I'm certainly not the model bare bones buyer.

I paid like $1,000 over invoice in Orlando with a lease and some other junk. Did I get the best deal possible? Probably not. Do I care? Not really. $10-20 over the life of the lease doesn't matter. Mine has Tech and running boards.
