I was at Scanlon in Fort Myers today trying to buy an 07 TL-S 6MT. I had set a personal limit of 38k OTD (this equated to a purchase price of $35,644 or ~$200 over invoice). Their best offer was $1000 over invoice. He said at that price, they would pretty much make no money. He also said that they do *not* have any holdback - 3% or otherwise and also that the 4.9% financing deal ends today. It was hard to walk, but I've seen better deals on here and from experience, once a limit has been set, it cannot be broken (well, maybe that's just a rule that I have to hold myself to). Plus, I didn't feel that he was being straight with me, with the holdback and financing. I also had an invoice offer at Ed Morse in Pampano, but mysteriously, the morning that I was supposed to drive over there and close the deal, all of the 6MTs has been sold. 3 in 2 days. hmmmm. The Sarasota guy is supposed to call me tomorrow. We'll see what he offers. At any rate, it does seem that FL dealers are not dropping like some other areas.

BCP- The price that I got the carbon gray/ebony non-NAV TSX was: $24,900 which I negotiated over the phone after e-mailing several other Florida dealers. The next best price I got was $25,200 so I said what the heck, I'll try $24,900 and the dealer accepted. Sarasota, where I live, couldn't touch the price I negotiated at Scanlon Acura of Fort Myers (Florida) because Scanlon has NO dealer fees. Sarasota wouldn't budge on their $500 dealer prep! $24,700 was the base price and state taxes of 6% were added. Since I transferred the tag from my old car to the new one, the new tag was around $100 or so. There were no other charges -- color, interior, dealer fees etc. I did pay $125 (dealer cost) to have the windows tinted and it looks sweet! I forget the exact OTD price but it was in the neighborhood of $26,600. I did pay cash for the car so there was no loan to deal with. I would highly recommend Scanlon Acura. Just give them a call, start the negotiations low -- I would recommend $24,700 and see what happens. If you get a deal below 25K before TTL you done good. Good luck.

stilllooking, The car we got was the auto non-navi pearl white version of the TSX. But having the auto or the 6sp should not matter since they are both the same price. The day I went there with my family was a day when the new car sales manager was not there for whatever reason. The person who ok'd my deal was the used car sales manager. I was told by someone there on the day I picked up my vehicle that if the new car sales manager had been there I problaby would not have got such a good deal. My reply to that was simple, you can either sell me the car for that price or not. It is as simple as walking away and leaving the dealership. I have a close friend who works for a dealership in San Diego and he has told me much about the business. The #1 thing about car sales that they teach you is that when someone isn't happy with the price of the car and they walk off the lot there is about a 90% plus chance they won't come back. That is why some dealerships are so aggressive in not letting you walk away. Luxury line dealerships are not quite so bad with this, but that is the way it is. When they made the offer of $25.5 did you have any other offers from other dealerships? I did, and that is what really sealed the deal for me. If you live in the Orlando area...good luck....of the many bids I received they were by far one of the highest...I did not even give them another thought. Try Scanlon Acura of Fort Myers or Gettel Acura of Sarasota. Both gave me excellent prices, Scanlon has no dealer fees!!!! If your willing to go a little out of your way to get your TSX it can save you much $$$$$. If you go on the lot at the end of the month and they have the car that you want, and you show them that you are dead serious about buying (maybe cash in hand, via check or whatever) I bet you can get the deal you want period! Good luck!
Just Purchased TSX
by rsf on Wed Jun 23 19:31:25 PDT 2004
I wanted to offer my experience in purchasing a 2004 Acura TSX yesterday since I had so much help from this discussion board and thought I may help others, as well, in researching a price for their vehicle. I live in Southwest Florida and contacted about 7 different dealers from around the state by e-mail after google searching Acura Dealerships. From the posts on this message board, it appeared that most were paying in the neighborhood of $25,200-25,500 without NAV. Several dealers said that they would match the $25,200 and others added the "Dealer Fee" which was usually around $500. I ended up working a deal with Scanlon Acura in Fort Myers for $24,900 plus taxes. There was no hassle and no dealer fees attached. I decided to add tinted windows for $125 - dealer cost - and the dealership also threw in tire locks for free. I ended up getting what I wanted-- Carbon Gray/Black Ebony, and as luck would have it, the car was being shipped directly to the dealership about the time I wanted to pick it up. Went to the dealership, signed my papers, and was out the door in less than 30 minutes. So for those of you who shop around, there are deals to be made. I think that the summer is slow for a lot of dealerships, especially here in Florida and inventory may be high. They have to get rid of their 2004 cars before the 2005s come in. I really don't think its unreasonable to try to get invoice plus destination = $25,700 at this time of year.
