Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
Not sure othe best the price, but the best way to check is to shop around. I live in Stamford & service my wife's 2010 TSX at Acura of Westchester (Larchmont, NY), so try there as well as DEVAN Acura of Norwalk. They both gave me good prices when I was shopping back in August 2009. I ended up not buying from either because neither was a cash for clunkers dealer. Good luck & keep us posted.
I live in CT and recently went through the hassle of getting a 2010 RDX and price shopping was WICKED difficult. WITHOUT tech, my 2010 in Polished Metal Mettalic came to about $33.8k at Devan Acura in Norwalk, CT. Greenwich Acura quoted me $33.6k. (doc fee $139) Executive Acura in North Haven quoted me $33k. (Doc fee $400) HERE's the catch on ALL dealers in the CT/NY/NJ area: the "document" fee. I haggled them down to $139 on the doc fee, lowest I found anywhere. Reason I went with $33.8k was that I got free oil changes on the LIFE of my 2010 RDX, and at $111 (incl tax) every 5k, that's a lot of saved money for me. That, and convenience of location and discounted service since I bought from them (~10%). With a solid trade in, I'm pretty happy. . . Only issue is my new RDX has a slight NVH in the seat belt around 2200rpm. . .think it needs a little rubber bushing or something, no biggie, just surprising given Acura's high QA.
These cars have INSANE resale value. Not that we're planning to get rid of ours anytime soon (Black/Black TSX TECH w/ Automatic). We just picked it up on Saturday. We paid $32,112 + taxes & fees for our car. We paid a little on the high side because we were able to utilize a $3500 cash 4 clunkers rebate. Island Acura, Wantagh, NY. I was quoted $30,900 by Acura of Westchester & $31,450 by Devan Acura, Norwalk, CT.
The best price I was able to get over the phone was from Acura of Westchester (Larchmont, NY). The guy offered to sell me the car for $30,900 right off the bat which works out to about $300 over invoice ($30,612). The price I put a deposit on was $31,450 ($838 over invoice) from Devan Acura in Norwalk, CT. There are A LOT of Acura dealers out there who sold lots of cars to cash 4 clunkers buyers and are waiting for their money and won't seel TSXs for clunkers anymore. Raylle Acura (Roslyn, Long Island), Ramsey Acura (Northern NJ), Park Avenue Acura (Northern NJ), & Curry Acura (Scarsdale, NY) have all stopped participating in the cash 4 clunkers program due to the insane amount of paperwork & the fact they haven't gotten paid at all from the gov't. My deal with Devan hangs on the fact that they are (and have been for 2 weeks) trying to sign up to be a Cash 4 Clunkers dealer. I don't think it is going to happen & it looks like I'm not going to get a TSX.
I'm picking up a 2010 TSX Tech w/ Automatic next week for $31,450 at DEVAN ACURA in Norwalk, CT. The best price I got was from ACURA of WESTCHESTER $30,900 ($300 over invoice). I'm getting the car in Norwalk even though it is further because I'm getting a $3500 cash for clunkers credit from my 1990 BMW 325i. They actually signed up for the program just to sell me a car. DEVAN ACURA & ACURA of WESTCHESTER were both professional, knowledgeable, & courteous over the phone. They gave me great prices. If you live in Westchester, whatever you do, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM CURRY ACURA AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.
