Red, Red, Red
by the_man on Thu Jul 08 22:19:48 PDT 2004
I recently purchased a RSX Type-S. The color as you guessed it is red. Red is the best color in the world. I got the car for around 23,000 dollars from Acura of Avon. The car is a great little runabout sports car and it has room for my skis and musical instruments which is always a plus. I am very satisfied with the car except for the horrible tires and the lack of an armrest. However I am getting new tires and wheels as well as a center armrest.(don't get a boomerang armrest because your arm will always rub against it while shifting and it can't fold up). Overall the car is a pleeasure to drive weather on country backroads or onlong straights while letting the throttle go full out.
6MT sparse in New England...
by hopsterguy on Wed Jun 16 12:28:42 PDT 2004
Put a deposit in at a local dealership in Groton, CT for them to search for a 6MT in my color choice for me... gave them the choice of Blue, Anthracite, or Red... no go. Dealer just called back a day later that they can't locate one that isn't already sold. Looks like I'll be waiting... really don't want to give up on a color combo I'd be happy with. -Steve
Red w/Parchment AT and NAVI in Mass

Bought a new TL, Redondo Red w/Parchment AT w/NAVI at the end of March for $33,600. Dealer is Inskip Acura in Rhode Island (excellent, straightforward buying experience), and deal included mats, wheel locks, etc. I live in the Boston area, and offer some thoughts about my buying experience for New Englanders: 1)Limited availability for AT w/NAVI appears real. I shopped 6 dealers across 4 states and had few choices of cars for immediate delivery. Abyss Blue seems to be the exception to this rule. 2)With demand increasing (others have noted record sales levels for the TL in March),deals seem to be tightening up. I shopped one dealer in CT who sold a TL for $33,475 in February and the best they would do for me was $34,600 for a late April delivery on an Abyss Blue TL. 3) The end of month sales pressure can be used effectively in neogtiations. Many call-backs from salesmen on the 30th and 31st for cars that "may be freeing up." Yeah, right, but quoted prices started dropping as well. 4) I lurked on this board for 3 months before buying. Thanks to all who posted -- prevailing prices paid and confirmations about car availability proved very helpful in my landing the car at a decent price. Hope this information is helpful -- good luck to all (the car is great, by the way, with no rattles or issues as of yet).
