Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
These lease rates sound better than what I've been able to get from the dealer in NH - this is after wasting 2 hours in the dealership in the first day. I want the AWD version...all they had were packaged up versions and with $3,000 down (12k miles - 36ms), we started at over $500 per month to lease. I have it down some but so far from what Cadillac (as one example) is offering on a CTS Coupe or Wagon at the same general price range. I may take a drive to one less local.
I am looking to lease a 2012 base TSX, 15,000 miles/year. Got the same offer from three Acura dealers in CT. All said $0 down is $370/month and with $3,000 down its $317 down. Is this good???
I'm asking a question below about Holdback..If I'm right about there being 3 points below invoice on a TSX then your price of 28,700 is nearly 2,000 less than what I calculate to be the break even price on this car...I calc break even to be 29740 plus dest of 885 = 30,625 Before TTL...the deal seems too good to be true...I'd ask for a CARFAX and or take the salesman to dinner
Looking at a TSX wagon and dealer is offering 3% over invoice. I think this adds up to a 6% overall margin for dealer which seems pretty fat not considering supply /demand. I calculate a 7% margin over invoice and I think I see a 3% holdback based on MSRP. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks
Hi all, I got the following assurance for a price (Tech/ENT MDX for $44,295 (including dest charge) + TTL) from 3 dealers in the NJ/NY/CT area. I'll mention two of them, b/c the third one (in NJ) I had limited discussions with and told me right off they did not have the color I wanted. The other two-- Acura Milford CT and Paragon in Queens, NY. I did most of my work on the internet/email. I got to the price I wanted and was told to "come on down." But the only thing was, each of the three did a stutter-step when I went to get the color and interior color that I wanted, despite letting them know early on. When I got there (The Queens, NY dealer that is...), they said how does a white one sound? How about this grey on with a scratch on it hood (we can buff that out). No thanks. I am truly sorry I took the trip down to Queens. Back in CT, where I live, and even worse experience with the Milford dealership. The internet sales manager at Milford could not even answer basic questions directly. It took him three tries at answering the question "do you have the car in this color?" Then he backtracked on an assurance that he could meet the price above (this assurance was made by one of his staff). When I called him on it he never answered the simple question: "Can you meet or beat the price?" He said he would have to escalate after I gave him a CC number, really?... Come by, blah, blah, blah. Sorry, no deal I thought. Let me explain my simple alternative to this dirty back and forth game they were playing (It's not a great one if you are dead set on geeting the MDX -which is a great car by the way, but I was caught between the MDX and the X5, which I did a lot of groundwork on as far as price). On the way home from Queens, back to CT, I picked up the cell phone and bought an BMW X5. Good price for the car (crossing my fingers on the reliability), but it is gorgeous and a 2012. 6K more, but what the heck. Thank you aweful Acura dealerships and sales people for making me see what my future would hold if I was forced to interact with your dealership going forward (service).
