Will finalize the deal tomorrow morning. I will keep you guys posted One more question: I am kinda tall, about 6'4", do you think I will fit in the driver seat easily? I tried Toyota, it's quite roomy. what do you think about the MDX? i have not had a chance to try one yet. ..any feedback will be appreciated...!

The best price I have quoted for is about 36800, which is a lot higher than the price posted here. The dealers in CO seem not willing to negotiate very much.

Re: To Tech or Not To Tech [mlb11]: by cebteb on Fri Oct 09 12:12:16 PDT 2009; The residuals are estimates based on recent history (I'm guessing more than just the prior year) and are there to protect Acura and the dealer from any substantial loss on the lease as well as to entice the lessee to consider purchase or lease extension at the end to the term. I'm talking about Blue Book in 3 or 4 years and one's ability in any given market to attract buyers or get a good trade-in offer. Nav and backup cameras seem to have become the items de jour during the past 3 years or so (I'm also old enough to remember when A/C was an extra cost option and folks who saved on the buy tried to fool their neighbors on a hot summer day) and are showing up on just about every vehicle listed over $30K now a days (many mid-$20K MSRP vehicles are getting pushed up to that $30K price point w/ tech packages). Whether they will be as "essential" to the late model used car buyer as A/C and AT in 3 or 4 years is anybody's guess, but following auto reviews and promotions indicates to me that the manufacturers think they are becoming high demand options. Just MHO. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't buy a +$30K entry level luxury car w/o tech unless I was sure I was keeping it 7 to 10 years. BTW, I live in metro-Denver, and while most families own one 4WD truck or AWD SUV here, cars with AWD don't seem to be that big a seller (exception being the Infinity I-35/37 AWD, which seem plentiful here). But, that's just based on observation, I haven't dug into regional sales data for all brands.

To Tech or Not To Tech: by cebteb on Thu Oct 08 14:32:46 PDT 2009; One thing to remember is that these tech packages are one of the big "must haves" with consumers in the new and late model used car market. Tech is like AT was years back, that is, resale value is hurt w/o it. If you plan to keep this new TL for 7 to 10 years, then it won't make much difference. But, if you look to sell or trade this new TL in the first 5 years, then lack of Tech will significantly impact its value compared to other TLs with Tech and other competitors with similar tech packages. OTOH, SHAWD has been getting mixed owner reviews here on Edmunds due to the stiffness of the ride. So SHAWD will have resale value to only a small segment of the market interested in performance or AWD no matter what. Just something to think about.

What is the Blue Book trade-in value for your Accord? Is the dealer offering you more, less, or average for your trade-in? Assuming the dealer is offering you "average" trade-in value for your 2004 Accord, then the $22,510 doesn't sound too bad for the "used" TL. Acura TLs are among the slowest depreciating cars out there.
