Re: New incentives? [tastycakes55]

Predicting incentive is like reading tea leaves... no one knows Having said that last sept/Oct incentives were 4K because 1) Gas was >$4.50 (in CA) 2) dealers were flushed with MDX 3) Economy was in much worse shape 5) Pessimism was very high... Now 1) Gas is around 3.50 2) Honda has controlled the inventory/cut production 3) There is little optimism about economy 4) General pessimism is leas then last year... So I do not see why the incentives will increase... but then who can predict these things

An Example For the purchase of a $30,000 vehicle with 7% state sales tax, the taxpayer would receive a $2,100 tax deduction. The actual tax savings depends on the amount of sales and excise tax paid in your state and on your tax rate. Ask your dealer about your state's tax rates. Keep in mind that its deduction not credit,,, So if you are 15% tax bracket your savings are 0.15*2100=$315... Thats just 300 on a 30K car...Is your time worth that much? Also if you are living in a high state tax states like CA, NY, NJ and are making >80K and have a mortgage deduction then probability is VERY HIGH that you are subject to AMT...then no deduction for you!!! I am not a CPA...but devil is in the details I believe tax deduction should not be considered at all in a anything that is an expense. For me if it is an expense it driven by two things 1) Passion and/or 2) Value/Utility This is what I would consider 1) Do you like the looks of 2010 or 2009 (Front grill is different) 2) New transmission for Acura. Are you OK with it? Last time when honda/acura went from 4 speed to 5 speed it was a disaster. Transmission failing at 65K to 70K miles. Go read threads on MDX/Accord/TL board regarding 2000/2001 transmission 3) How badly you need car now 4) Time value of money Vs. Timing of car buying

Hi, I work for a local south bay area Acura dealership, AutoWest Acura of Stevens Creek. I've done a locate on the tech model 2009 in sterling gray and have found none. The current colors in this area are Silver/Black/White and Red. The other colors are out of production for the rest of 2009. I am glad to help you in any capacity that I can.
SH-AWD / Tech quotes or purchases?
by acuracyclist on Fri Nov 06 17:43:13 PST 2009
Anyone out there gotten quotes or purchased a '10 TL AWD w/ Tech pckg? Please share if you have. dealers in CA don't seem to want budge below about $39k at this point. I'm may wait until end of year and see if they get any more motivated to move a TL off their lot...if not I may just purchase an MDX...I can get 2009 MDX w/ Tech for sub $39k (a friend in LA just bought) the '10 TL inventory is the exact same at two dealers i visited in early Oct and again yesterday. MDX's seem to be moving, but TL's do not. just my two cents...
process of getting a low price
by etspam on Fri Nov 06 11:58:07 PST 2009
Hi all- Have been monitoring the thread for a bit, and I'm wondering what is the best process to see about getting the lowest price for an Acura MDX '09. I test drove the car a while back, but want to get the '09, since the '10 already seems to have transmission issues. Plus, I don't particularly like the new grill. Somewhat of a newbie to carbuying. Should I go thru something like carsdirect.com? Send emails directly to each dealer? Go directly to the dealers themselves? How does one get them to bid against each other? One other thing - I'm in the CA bay area, south bay. Though I don't mind driving up the peninsula or east bay if I can get a good deal. Anyone do a recent purchase? Am looking for the Tech package, sterling gray.
