Just got two quotes from Acura of Stockton and Acura of Modesto for an '08 w/o Navigation and w/o mud guards, trunk tray, or wheel locks (very "base"): Stockton: $31,388 $55 (doc) $2,315 (tax) $268 (reg) Modesto: $31,955 $55 (doc) $2,357 (tax) $400 (reg) (Why the difference in reg? I don't know!) Both are before before the $2,500 cash back offer good through June. Based on what others are paying, it sounds like I need to keep shopping.

These prices are a steal! I bought my '04 MDX Touring in Nov. '03 for $39K+! And I'll probably get soaked again when my '07 comes in mid november. The '04 is the best vehicle I have owned. 40K trouble-free miles (knock on wood).

for $35,600, plus TTL last Thursday. The Internet manager is very easy to work with. I highly recommend her services.
2006 TSX non-Navi Blk AT in Stockton, CA

Just got one for my wife from Acura of Stockton yesterday. $26,599.00 w/wheel locks, trunk tray, splash guards and full nose mask + TTL. Everything done over internet and a couple of phone calls. All I had to do was get my wife to the dealership and choose a color. Very painless, I knew it was a good price so I wasn't going to drive 40-65 miles to save another $100.00 to $300.00. Best offer was $25,886.00 + TTL from Acura of Concord w/o accessories (would have been about $26,300.00), but it was a special end of the month offer--so for the best price: get on the internet for quotes, plan to buy at the end of the month and be willing to drive a few miles, otherwise your local dealer can make it easy, like they did for me.

They matched the price quote and the Internet Manager exceeded all my expectations." There must be a glut of MDXs sitting on dealers' lots in the Bay Area resulting in huge flooring charges for the dealers if Stevens Creek Acura and Acura of Stockton are letting them go off the lot at $2K under invoice. Either that, or something is going on between the manufacturer and the dealers that the public isn't privy to. I thought I did well six weeks ago when I wrote a check to Acura of Pleasanton for my '06 Touring/Nav for $300 under invoice. Pat yourself on the back. Unless you financed the MDX through the dealer at a relatively high APR over a lengthy period of time, you saved a ton of dough.
Jul 18, 2004 Purchase of Acura TSX- Sacramento
by tsxbuyer on Sun Jul 18 22:01:53 PDT 2004
Hi there! I read through a lot of the helpful messages in this forum over the past few weeks before buying my 2004 Acura TSX automatic w/navigation today, and wanted to share my experience. I live in Sacramento, and we have two Acura dealerships, Niello Acura and Lasher Acura. On Friday night 7/16, I sent out quote requests to those dealers plus several others in Stockton and the Bay Area. I included Acura of Los Gatos due to the positive feedback elsewhere this forum and wasn't disappointed: they were prompt in replying, no pressure, and oh so helpful. I was looking for Arctic Blue (auto w/navi), and the Internet manager there found that there were none on hers or any other Northern California lots, but she went so far as to discover that there was an Arctic Blue one en route to Niello by the end of July that was available! I thanked her profusely for her honest and helpful service that in my opinion went above and beyond the call of duty, then I contacted Niello. I received a quote of $27,752 via e-mail. I countered with $27,300. Niello today agreed to a price of $27,482, not including tax, title and document fees, but DID include splash guards and trunk tray at my request. Niello was low key, low-pressure, eager to please and had everything wrapped up in about an hour and a half. I decided to purchase an extended warranty. The 7-yr, 100,000 mile Acura factory extended warranty has zero deductible and was offered at $1,250. I got it for $1,040. The business office rep swore that warranty costs them $940, and he showed me a list that he stated showed the prices the dealer paid for the warranties. After looking at the apparent $940 dealer cost, I looked straight at him and asked directly if there were any other incentives, promotions, or ANYTHING that lowered his purchase cost for the warranty, and he said no - he'd be happy to make just $100 on it. So I went with $1,040. Could I have successfully dickered further? I'm not sure, but I have heard plenty of tales of buyers of other brands paying $1,600+ for their extended warranties, so $1,040 for an Acura factory extended warranty with zero deductible sounded pretty good. I've been through expensive car repairs before, and I know how something like a bad window motor can chew through $400 in nothing flat. The Acura has several computers in it, and you don't want to be paying retail for those pups. So for me, the warranty made sense and was not overpriced in my opinion, because somewhere within 7 yrs/100,000 miles, it's likely that there will be more than $1,000 in repair expenses. Kind of longwinded, but that's my experience! The car will arrive at the dealership for us to pick up at the end of July. Hope this info helps someone out there! And if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, be sure to give Los Gatos Acura a shot at your quote! They sure impressed me with their responsiveness, helpfulness, honesty and prompt, no-gimmicks follow-through. -K. Shearer in Sacramento, CA
