Bought an 06 TL from PRestige Acura in Nov. 05. Car was totaled two weeks ago. Went back to the dealership to buy an 07 TL. Told to the salesmanager I only want to deal with him. He said to come in Tuesday he will be there. I get there Tueday morning, he's at a car action all day. Huh? So I go talk to the finance manager about getting my pro-rated warranty money back. He hands me a sheet of paper from the printer and says, just write on it your car was totaled and you want your money back. I'll send it in. That felt weird to me. I get home, read the back of the form and it says I have to fill out a cancellation request for the warranty. The form also gives me the option of having it sent to me directly or for some reason, back to the dealership then me. I choose me. I Called Honda Finance Corp and asked how this process is handled. They told me you have to fill out that form, you have to send in proof of the total loss. Called Prestige back about that form. Was told "they don't use it, it's not required and people have always gotten their money back." He goes onto say, "How are we supposed to recoup our loss of selling that warranty?" HUH, I said, that's not my problem. In short, Prestige signs the form for you, gets your warranty money back, takes a cut of it and mails it to you! I called Honda Finance Corp and asked if I could fill out the form and FAX it in. She said yes, but a dealership has to sign the paperwork. I had Marin Acura sign it. :-) If you live in Santa Rosa or bay area, DO NOT GO to Prestige Acura. I drove 45 minutes to Marin Acura and bought my 2007 TL there and paid a 100 bucks more than what I paid for that 2006 TL. What does that tell you?

Is it new or use? In November of 05, I paid 34,500 for my 06 TL w/Nav which included wheel locks and protection package (splash guards, rubber flow matts forward and aft and rubber trunk matt)My TL was rear ended and totaled last month. Edmunds TMV (true market Value) for my car is as follows with 17,600 miles on it: Trade in: 28,320 Private: 30,035 Dealer: 31,439 So, if your car is new, sounds like a good deal to me. I live in Santa Rosa, CA.

This past weekend I sold my BMW 323i and the next day I bought an 05 TL without NAV from an Acura in Santa Rosa. I didn't plan to buy there since I live 100 miles away from it, but I was visiting my parents who live near by. I went in with the intention to buy not leasing it. However, I ended up leasing it. Here is the deal that I got.   Invoice $29,982 msrp $32,900 Dest $ 570 Doc Fee 45 Tires Fee 9 City Fee 20 Markup 823 Tax 8.25% 2589 Reg Fee 257   Out the door price was $34,295. The car has the following dealer installed options: all season floor mats, cargo tray, wheel locks, splash guards.   I hope bay area drivers will get better deals than this one. Good luck.

saga112- This morning you posted you bought a TL wNav for $900 over invoice in Santa Rosa, CA. Four days before that on 12/23/04 you posted on another board that you bought a new Camry in Maryland. What's the story?????   Your Camry post..........   #1621 of 1634 2005 Camry LE V6 for $21250 OTD by saga112 Dec 23, 2004 (10:30 pm)   Bookmark | Reply I just went to Darcars Toyota in Maryland and got a 2005 Camry LE V6 for $21250 OTD.    In case this information helps anyone, here's the breakdown:    2005 Camry LE V6 - invoice 19916 JBL Package - invoice 218 Side/Curtain airbags package - invoice 559 Cargo Net - invoice 34 Mats - invoice 114 Destination - 515 Total Invoice Cost = 21356    Dealer quoted me at $19923 which is 1433 below invoice.    To get to the total cost (21250), it was:    19923 for car including 750 rebate 100 processing fee (lame) 188 tags (20 more if we had financed) 5% tax    Darcars is kind of a shady dealership in that we spent 3 hours filling out extraneous paperwork (that I haven't seen at other dealerships) despite having told them to have everything ready, and a lot of hassling about trying to sign up for extended warranty plans. Overall it was the best price we found though, so we went for it.    Good luck!
