Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
I want to start off by saying that I like this site it gives us great tools! I read a couple great review's about Mdx deals offered by the internet manager at glendale that no other's would match. I just baught my TL from the internet manager at Acura of Glendale in CA too. I can't tell where you are located but he sold me the base tl that you want for 33105+tax lic and fee's. I spoke to center acura, cerritos, and 3 or 4 more dealer's and they could not beat that offer, they were trying to get me in the store to supposibly help me get a better payment than glendale by a program they have. Don't go for that game they are waisting your time! The guy at Acura of glendale was very honest and upfront, other dealers were trying to trick me by giving prices not including destination charge just to be lower that acura but his price was including destination fee. Hope this helped you good luck on your purchase, I am loving my car!
Dealer invoice is $48,681 (includes destination). You might be able to do better but it'd be fair - especially for Grigio/Taupe - that seems to be a hot hard to find color. If you end up buying for that price, would you mind checking to see if the dealer will sell out of state. Some do, some don't. So far Glendale of CA won't sell out of state. Center will, but the fleet guy is acting like a typical salesman and playing price games - not what I expected based on the positive reviews of Center Acura on this site.
I'm trying to find a 2011 MDX w/Tech Grigio/Taupe. I'm ready to buy today if I can find it for the price. I'm in the Seattle area and can't get even close to a reasonable deal from Bellevue or Lynnwood. They both are sticking to Microsoft/Costco pricing at $2000 *over* invoice. The invoice already includes a destination charge. They have repeatedly told me this is a really, good deal. One guy even tried to show me how they were only making $1250. BS. I email two dealerships in CA. Glendale won't sell out of state. The other will, but they guy told me his best price was $700 *over* invoice. I dealership sent me mail and offered to sell me the car for $46,200 which is MSRP. These were all fleet/internet sales. I'd love to find the car for $42K which is a price others have achieved. I'm willing to buy in Oregon, Nevada, or California. If anyone has a contact that isn't slimy, could they mind sending me email? Thanks!
You can see my posting yesterday for details on the 2011 MDX w/ Tech I purchased yesterday. I priced almost every dealership (Internet/Fleet Sales teams) in CA (San Diego to NorCal, as far East as Bakersfield and Sacramento), and also in Las Vegas. It turned out, the two dealerships that I found to be the easiest to work with and most reasonably priced were the closest ones to me -- Center Acura and Glendale Acura. I didn't go with the Advanced Package because I felt the additional features weren't worth the premium. (Also, this car is for my wife, and her needs are quite simple and she wouldn't appreciate anything beyond the Tech package.) I wasn't considering the Entertainment package so I never priced it with any of the dealerships. (I'm not sold on having built in screens and a DVD player given all of the portable gadgets the kids have already; but I'm sure the folks that spring for the Entertainment packages have good reason for doing so.) The pricing below isn't from one specific dealer, but the best pricing I found overall. All pricing includes destination charges and wheel locks. All offers came with a price match guarantee (with caveats of course), and some came with offers to beat competitive written offers by $300 to $500 (still with caveats). For the record, I never bothered with trying to price match dealer against dealer to whittle the price down -- it's not how I would like to be treated, so I didn't go after it myself. Here's the pricing: 2011 MDX Base Pricing: $38,750 2011 MDX Technology Pricing: $42,000 2011 MDX Advanced Pricing: $47,500 As I mentioned in my earlier post, I conducted all correspondence in email, received offers in email, and only called the dealership to discuss color options and set an appointment to see the car. I was respectful of them and their time, and both Center and Glendale Acura were respectful of me and my time. Please don't contact me asking for which specific dealership had what price, etc. I've pretty much cleared out my inbox and deleted all of the emails I received, and it's easy enough to contact the dealerships directly. :) Once again, I highly recommend Center or Glendale Acura if you're in S. CA. They're both class acts. Best of luck in your MDX purchasing adventures!
I just purchased a 2011 Acura MDX w/ Tech for $41,999 plus tax and license on 12/28/2010 in Los Angeles, CA. This price includes destination charges and wheel locks. I received this price from Center Acura and Glendale Acura and would have gladly bought from either of them (the Fleet/Internet sales teams at both dealerships are fantastic) but I ended up making the purchase at Glendale Acura because they had the color combination (Palladium/Ebony) I wanted in stock and ready for pick up. I dealt with both dealerships via email, only calling to make an appointment to review the color selection available and make the purchase. As I mentioned above, both dealerships are fantastic to work with (completely hassle free) and I would highly recommend either one to potential buyers. For those who might be interested in an extended warranty, I also purchased an 8 year, 120K mile, $0 deductible Acura Care extended warranty for $2280. I priced this separately with a few dealerships (you can buy it from any Acura dealer), and Glendale offered to match the prices I had received elsewhere. The extended warranty purchase and pricing was not in any way related to the vehicle purchase. Best of luck in your car purchase.
