Written by: rolonhiway on Jun 11, 2010 4:56:12 PM
Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase the Dust Plate (Back Plate) on the rear of a 2001 Daewoo Nubira. Daewoo USA only sells them in kits. The Parking brakes and all hardware for $183 per side. Everything is good but the plates are so rusted the Parking Brake shoes keep falling and hitting the inside of the new rotors I just put on.

Written by: sermoco on Apr 10, 2009 1:53:54 AM
My Daewoo Nubira 2001 has a transponder inmobilizer system. The key for that is a small black plastic 2" stick, of which I have 2 sets, but any of those work. Since today when I turn on the ignition the system is not disarming (light won't stop flashing). I have the override code and sequence to do it. I did it twice, but it is not working. Is there any tip ... Read More

Our blower motor just stopped. There was neither noise nor smell. I have checked all the fuses and relays under the dash steering wheel and out on the fender under the hood and in the fuse box. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I was looking for the blower motor to see if it came unplugged. Where is it located? Thanks

I have been fortunate apparently since I have owned my 2001 Nubira since new. I did replace the compressor and the timing kit as a maintence requirement. Past that, its been fine. The new Chevy Aveo is made by Daewoo that has the Chevy name on it. Buying American won't necessarily get you American. Again, check with any former Daewoo dealers and they can get you the parts. I found that the " hot wire" from the control panel goes out sometimes. I remedied that by installing a toggle switch inside my wife's 2001 Nubira. When she wants A/C she just flips the switch. It's the same as turning on the regular switch (supplied power to compressor). Glad to be of help.

We bought our Nubira in 2003 and it had very low mileage; 28,000 at the time. It now has over 40,000 miles on it and we are very, very pleased with it! On top of that, about 3% of the timing belts are failing EARLY, before 60,000 miles causing extensive valve damage. Making a big recommendation to have it replaced early to prevent the costly damage and vehicle down time. I plan on making an appointment when my Nubira hits 53,000 miles and taking it in by 55,000 miles. Go to www.gates.com and they have a good guide showing which engines are and ... Read More
