I have had my 1999 Leganza CDX for over 10 years now, and it still runs, drives and feels like brand new. I cannot say the same for any of my friends who had to change their transmissions up to 3 times in the first 100K on their Accords, and then get rid of it, or the ones that had to replace their seized engines because of oil sludge in the ... I've got a 1999 manual trans Nubira that has serious issues with the hot weather, any help would be appreciated. On hot days (~30 deg or more) when driving on the highway at high speed, I am able to maintain 3500 revs no problem, however when it comes time to slow down and stop, at ~1000 revs, the engine splutters with and there is little to no response from the accelerator. ... My daughter bought a 1999 daewoo nubira 2.0 on ebay. After a few weeks of driving it the car started to act up. I noticed some brown milky stuff in the overflow reservoir and thought it was rust, so I did a radiator flush. Come to find out this milky stuff was block sealer. Now that I washed out all the sealer I ended up with water in my exhaust and ... Read More

I have a 1999 CDX model. I believe the best Daewoo cars were built prior to the bankruptcy. As part of the bankruptcy the Korean state run banks(Daewoo creditors) forced them to cut parts costs. My Leganza is now 5 years old and still trouble free. It is fully paid for. All I have to do now is enjoy it for the next 5 years, and hopefully more. I never had ... Read More

On top of that, about 3% of the timing belts are failing EARLY, before 60,000 miles causing extensive valve damage. Making a big recommendation to have it replaced early to prevent the costly damage and vehicle down time. I plan on making an appointment when my Nubira hits 53,000 miles and taking it in by 55,000 miles. Go to www.gates.com and they have a good guide showing which engines are and ... Read More
