I had a similar issue with my 2001 Lanos. I took it to a local car dealership and they replaced a cap that is under the reserve, for $45.00 and that fixed the problem. Remeber that Daewoo parts are interchangeable with other cars like the "Swift" or other small cars - so the cost should not be so high to repair minor details like this one.

2001 daewoo leganza cdx 70k I recently put a new motor in my mothers car after the old engine blew up.. now the tranny will not engage in any gear. rd321. the cable is fine, tranny fluid is good, Im getting 2 codes 0700 and another 0700 (with arrows) any ideas? also does anyone know where the brain for the tranny is located the service manual does not have a location ... Did you turn the pulleys by hand before you put the new belt on, to verify that all of the bearings on the accessories were free to turn, and not wobbly or bad?

Recently I was driving my 01' Daewoo Leganza and the serpentine belt must have got caught on something (needed a new belt, had shreds coming off) and got shredded to nothing all under the car. I had it towed to my house via AAA. Bought a new belt for it, installed it, now the car cranks but will not start. Any ideas?

Hi joepeterson56..I have a 2001 daewoo lanos that is doing the exact same thing as your Leganza with the overdrive shifting problem..Did you ever get it solved..Someone told me to try and replace the thermostat which i did but it did not make any difference..Did you get a solution for your problem please..Your reply will be greatly appreciated..Thanks.. my email is: mdipasquale@spoonerhealthsystem.com

Probably already figured it out but your a.c. drainage valve gets clogged and backs up runs under the thick foam under your carpet on your passenger side. Can cause the wires to corrode and cause instrument cluster and ignition problems. If you cut the rubber drain hose about an inch up that should let it drain properly. GM never was the source of dealer warranty reimbursement.A separate entity was set up to handle warranty work at the time GM purchased DAEWOO.GM funded this entity as part of the purchase agreement.I know that there was a SUZUKI dealership in Spartanburg SC who honored these warranties.I'm not sure want the time limit was.I would check with JOE GIBSON Suzuki in Spartanburg SC.They may be able to help people find dealers ... my 2001 leganza has a button on the console that locks the trans in that gear. This button prevents the trans from shifting out of the gear it was in when the button was pushed. Can you shift the trans manualy?

One more question....I've read all the posts on this forum and it seems like I read somewhere that it's a good idea to replace the water pump when you have the timing belt replaced. It sounds like your problem is the EGR valve. It stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. It's for emissions and opens and closes depending on what the computer tells it and reburns harmful gasses. Because it is directly linked to the exhuast system it can get clogged with carbon deposits. I have taken mine off a few times, cleaned it with carborator cleaner, and had no problems.
