I agree with your worriers concerning the Chrysler vans completely. Having had three Chrysler vans so far, the 2001 has been the best in terms of reliability and fit and finish My 1988 Grand Voyager LE was awful until I found a good non-Chrysler mechanic. You've got to understand that the Chrysler vans do in fact have more problems than the foreign competitors such as the Toyota and Honda. I don't call power sliding door problems, unpadded armrests, and rattles qualification to call a product unreliable. I've had three and know the ups and downs of the Chrysler Corporation. In 2001, Dodge called it the Grand Caravan EX. The 2002 Caravan brochure calls them the eC, eL, and eX on pages 20 and 21 where Standard features and options are shown and pages 22 and 23 where Colors, wheels and accessories are shown. I have not yet seen a 2002 Voyager/Town and Country brochure so it may be that Chrysler models are labeled differently than Dodge. ... Read More...

As I said before, my '88 Grand Voyager had much more usable space behind the third seat because of the boxy setup trunk opening. The '96 van was great in that it had more shoulder room up front, and much bigger windows all around, yet the very curvy setup of the rear cargo area left something to be desired. I too was shocked with the disappointing mileage, but that was in my 1996 LXi. My 2001 Limited around town gets about 15 miles to the gallon, which is exactly what I got for 5 years in the '96 LXi. But I even asked the guys at Chrysler when I had the '96 if I had a fuel problem, because it was such worse mileage compared to the previous 1988 Grand Voyager. All they said was ... Read More...

My 2001 Chrysler Voyager mini van is only 5 months old and has already had the transmission replaced. It still seems to be bad, making slipping sounds, slow to take off and has occasional sounds like something hitting the underside. It has had the rear wiper motor and air bag clock spring replaced.
