2005 Chrysler Town and Country LX 4dr Ext Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
We have owned our Chrysler Town and Country van for almost 4 years. The space and stow and go seating is wonderful. The multiple problems we have had that require repairs makes us wish that we would have bought a different vehicle. From electrical locks that have gone hay-wire to bad tie rods and at least 2 recalls, it's been in the shop a lot. That's just part of the list of things that have required fixing. We still owe on it and unfortunately did not get an extended warranty. We passed the 36,000 mile mark a while ago so now we just keep hoping and praying nothing more goes wrong.

I purchased this van. I love it. I drive in town and freeway. The only things i wish were different is the gas mileage, wish there was a console between the seats, and bluetooth. However outside of the mileage i love it.
Favorite Features
Stow and go seating, sliding doors on both sides
Suggested Improvements
Do something to improve gas mileage

Solid Minivan, great configuration options with 'stow-n-go'. Easily transports 7 adults/kids. Good for road trips. Issues - Brakes, Steering rack, tires (replaced at 32K), fuel economy. Concerned about long term reliability, bought extended warranty as I plan to keep a long time.
Favorite Features
Stow-n-Go, DVD entertainment system, ride
Suggested Improvements
Higher backs for middle two seats, fuel economy (averaging 15-16 city, 18- 20 highway)

Bad AC, Brakes, & Steering
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Limited 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Stow & Go is great!. Interior, bluetooth, Homelink, navigation great. Brakes don't last (yes I'm gentle on them) The AC keeps breaking & we only use it 5 months of the year. At 34,000 miles the power steering went bad and now at 36,000 miles its bad again. Lucky I bought the extended warranty! The new owners of Chrysler should check parts suppliers QC. Or they may go the way of Oldsmobile.
Favorite Features
Stow N Go, Nav, home link, bluetooth, gas mileage and distance to empty computer, gas mileage. Storage and engine has good pickup.
Suggested Improvements
Quality of brakes, AC, power steering unit, and from what others have written much better QC on your parts suppliers. I hope the redesign addresses some of these issues.
Great ride, too much reliability issues

Review
This minivan rides really great, probably the best ride for all minivans. Love the stow n go, already hauled 4 big screen TVs and 1 bunk bed. Feel like owning a truck without a truck gas mileage. However, too many reliability issues here and there: Break pads worn out every 20k miles front and rear, emmission computer failed, ball joints, tie rods and rack & pinion need to be replaced. "Life is like a box of chocolate" with this van, you never know what problem you're gonna get tomorrow.
Favorite Features
Great ride, Stow N Go, Great mileage 24-26mpg on the highway.
Suggested Improvements
Material quality & reliability! If Chrysler wants people to go back to American cars, they have to produce good quality products.

Poor quality
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Chrysler did a great job on the design and features. When new the ride is very good. But, they failed to use parts that meet my durability expectations. I would advise potential customers to look elsewhere. This is my 3rd Chrysler minivan and it will be my last.
Favorite Features
Overall the vehicle is designed well and has improved with each new model. The Sto-n-Go is great.
Suggested Improvements
#1. Use more reliable parts. I have spent thousands of dollars replacing worn out parts. With less than 35000 miles and 38 months old, this is way below expectation. Interior noise is too high. Bigger mirrors to shrink blind spots.

Wish I Hadn't
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
This car was a disappointment. We bought when we had our second child thinking that Chrysler was the only one who knew Mini-vans. The interior design is fantastic, but the quality of the vehicle was disturbing as well as the quality of service at the dealership. Paint is chipping off the rear fenders, front end has to have parts replaced again, etc.. The list goes on.
Favorite Features
6 DVD Video Player. This rox and no one else seems to have it.
Suggested Improvements
Just about everything else.

Town & Country Mini-RV
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Limited 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I am embarrassed to drive a mini-van, but not to drive a mini-RV. I can pack this thing completely full for camping, haul around every kid in the neighborhood, get up hills, drive in snow, and open the doors automatically when my hands are full of groceries. Great gas mileage!
Favorite Features
Back up radar, Fold flat seats, heated seats, GPS, auto doors, rear DVD player w/headphones, computer that tells me lights are out, need service & flat tire are greatest features.
Suggested Improvements
More convenient front console esp. when moon roof present. Women need a place for pen & pad, purse & sunglasses. More controls on rear DVD.

Often in the Shop / Does Not Hold Up
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Bought new. Have had it for 2 yrs, 45K miles. Regular maintenance performed. Wife/kids wanted stow and go seats & DVD player. This car is in the shop a lot. Repeated problems with steering moaning noise, interior parts falling off, sliding door roller and sliding door electrical failures. The car is currently on it's third set of brake pads. The stow and go feature works well for the 3rd row. The 2nd row uses smallish seats and is more cumbersome to change out. Handling is "boaty" but adequate. Gas mileage averages 18-19 mpg.
Favorite Features
The mini-van design is perfect for kids and large families. The DVD player is a much loved feature, especially since we can put the kids on headphones while using DVD player and adults listen to CD/Radio over speakers. Wife really likes the 3rd row stow and go.
Suggested Improvements
Roll windows down in 2nd row. Build the car better. Use tighter tolerances and better materials. This model line (in my ten year/three mini-van experience) consistently has low reliability and high repair time.
