T&C Touring
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Our T&C Touring recently went on a road trip to Iowa. No problems at all. I have a knee replacement, and the car was no problem at all to drive. No lower back pain as the lumbar support is excellent. The rough Iowa roads were no match for the suspension, and we were able to cruise on the Interstates at the speed limit with no problem. All the little touches (radio controls on steering wheel, bins galore, stow and go seats) make this vehicle an excellent purchase. We did upgrade the OEM tires to a better grade (with a better warranty). The T&C is one of the best minivans on the road, hands down. Don't let anyone fool you...go drive one and you'll buy it. BTW, sound sys is great!

Review
Have owned our T&C Limited since May 2005. Have driven it locally and a couple of long road trips. The inside design and features are exceptional. Stow n Go has been very useful. I'm 6'2" 220 lbs. and have plenty of room in both first and second rows. Seats are very comfortable and great back support. Acceleration is adequate, but could be better. Driver visibility excellent. Handling excellent. Ride is smooth and quiet - luxurious even. Am averaging 17-18 mpg in city and 23-24 mpg highway. Nav system and stereo are great. Couple of quality problems - Nav system delivered with no antenna, a window alignment, alternator replaced. All handled by dealership promptly.
Favorite Features
Stow and Go. Nav system. Video system. Seats. Roomy. Quiet ride. Turning radius. Power side doors and tail gate.
Suggested Improvements
Better acceleration. A couple of extra mpg.

Have had previous chrysler mini's, and all served well. Bought this one for 4K under blue-book. Enterprise Rental vehicle sold at a Saturn dealer w/ 30K miles. Thank goodness the warranty is still in effect.. have had the car in 3x for power-lock system failure. Returning to Chrysler dealer in 2 days for faulty component replacement (so 4th trip for same problem). Now, passenger power window doesn't work. Some bugs to be expected for 1st model year of major re-design. Hope that problems can happen over next 1000 miles while still in warranty. Otherwise nice car, with lots of good features - especially Stow-n-go seating.
Favorite Features
stow-n-go, and good leg room for larger children. 3 zone a/c a necessity for temps over 80 deg F. LH sliding door is great.
Suggested Improvements
Due to power locks, chrysler only has 1 key operated passenger door as a cost saving measure. Would rather pay a few $ more, and have key operated locks for all passenger doors.. very inconvenient when power lock system fails!

We have really enjoyed this minivan. The stow and go seating is incredible. I've loaded it down and towed it many times. Very versatile vehicle for our growing family. Very glad with picked it over the others.
Favorite Features
Stow and go seating, windshield wiper fluid resevoir that accects the whole gallon jug and adjustable foot pedals.
Suggested Improvements
8 way adjustable front passenger seat... This seat needs to be able lower to accomadate taller, larger people. Raise the GPS screen higher on dash (like honda's) to be more in line of sight. When needed, you have to look down too far. Raise the position of the brake release or makeitafootrelease
does not hold on slope

Gas mileage: 13 on city: 21 on freeway Like the cruise control, it works well on uphill and downhill. only problem, if you stop on a signal and even if there slight downward slope. the moment you release brake, it goes backwards. you would have to switch very quickly on form brake to gas. I had to practice not to press gas too hard in panic. I have 95 fold explorer which holds the round pretty well on even bigger slopes.
Favorite Features
cruise control, exterior looks
Suggested Improvements
make stow and go standard.
Needed this van

Review
I bought this vehicle primarilly because I have a electric powerchair to help me get around. Everything about the vehicle lent itself to the lift which I had installed for the chair. I am happy with everything in th4 vehicle including power and comfort. Fuel mileage leaves a lot to be desired, averaging about 17.5 both city and highway. The additional five hundred pounds of lift and chair are probably responsible for that.
Favorite Features
Power doors and rear hatch make everything so easy to manipulate especially the power lift for the wheelchair.
Suggested Improvements
Visibility to the passenger side is difficult. The mirror has blind spots that make it dificult changing lanes in traffic.

At 20,000 miles the following problems have surfaced. 1 Rear large vent window drivers side fell out of the van 2 drivers side window motor went out 3 third brakelight fell out of van 4 fuel sending unit went out 5 chrysler front logo fell off 6 front bumper paint peeled, replaced front bumper assembly 7 front sway bar bushing worn out, replaced this vehicle was purchased new, used as a family van. Highly unreliable, not safe for family travel. Chrysler has been less than helpful in this matter, no remorse for producing a piece of junk. Do yourself a favor and buy a foriegn car

Review
I bought this van as a program vehicle so it came with miles already on it. I've had it for less than a year and already there is rattling in the dashboard, the rear stow-n-go has broken, the bushings and sway bar need to be replaced and the last straw was when a few nights ago it died on me and wouldn't restart. I had to have it towed to a repair shop and am still waiting to hear on what has cause this van to die on me. We've preformed all the recomended oil changes and taken care of it, so I'm not sure what to think. It's no longer in it's warranty, so I'm having to fight with the extended warranty company to get everything fixed. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Favorite Features
Stow-n-go, if it wouldn't have broken, heated seats.
Suggested Improvements
Reliability is poor, quality is poor. Paid too good of money for this van to already be having problems.

Love It

Review
We enjoy the flexibility of the vehicle and use it for hauling our things around which is great on trips and on the farm. The folding seats are neat always there if you need them. Excellent for traveling, we plan on doing a lot of it with the vehicle.
Favorite Features
Space we like it, lots of it - we can shop when traveling. The rear vent windows are nice that allows for fresh air to pass through when driving. The fold down seats allow us to camp out in the rear when traveling.
Suggested Improvements
A Horn that works when you need it, where do you push to make it sound? A larger engine for the base model, its ok but when going uphill it needs more power, we are only two and noticed the lack of it in West Virginia. Also stones logding in the rear brakes on gravel roads, need to be addressed.

I have had my 2005 Town and Country for 1 week and love it! It handles great, the price with rebates made my payments less than the previous minivan, the exterior is sharp, the seats are very comfortable, and the ride is very smooth. I will check back with an update in the future.
