Good van for the money
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country Touring 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Lots of power (3.8 engine). Gas mileage 23-25 on highway, 10-13 in town. Front seat comfort very good, second and third row seats are terrible. Can't sit in them with a bad back. Ride quality is better than Honda and Toyota especially on rough roads. Sound system (6 CD in-dash) is wonderful. Much better overall value than the Honda and Toyota. Bought this van for $7000 less than I could have bought a comperable Toyota or Honda. May not quite have the resale value of the other two, but I would rather have the extra $7000 in my pocket.
Favorite Features
Stow and go seats. This alone puts functionality above the Honda and Toyota. Almost like having an enclosed pickup truck.
Suggested Improvements
Better in-town mileage! Relocate spare tire to inside of van. It's located under the van between the front seats. You have to jack up van and lower the spare tire just to check the air pressure.

Review
Bought touring version; leather, luxury package, DVD system, B/U assist, etc. Driven for 3 weeks now. Love the ride and interior features. Sto-N-Go seats are great and easy to use. Already used them with a large package. Got the rebates and employee pricing and another dealer $400 off, so sticker price of $34,500 was a $28,500 price for me. Fit and finish were excellent. No delivery issues at all. Mileage to date is fair with engine not at peak yet. Averaged 19.5 mpg in combined city/highway. Pure highway delivers 22.0 - 23.5 depending on wind. Only complaint was lousy OEM Turanza EL42 tires, poor treadwear, poor wet traction. Swapped to Turanza LS-Ts and love them, big difference.
Favorite Features
Sto-N-Go seats, easy to use controls, remote power side and tailgate operation, great ride. Climate control system is excellent, love ability to override fan speed. Looks aren't bad either.
Suggested Improvements
Better OEM tires, improved gas mileage. Front seat cup holder is too low on console. Change holder is way too low to be useable by driver.

This is a very well built, very low priced minivan. I was impressed by the quality and number of acessories that came standard with this American made minivan.

Chrysler still leads in Minivans

2005 Chrysler Town and Country Signature Series 4dr Ext Minivan (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Traded in my 300m after 4yrs which was never taken back to dealer for anything. Intended to buy another 300, but the 7M off on the Town & Country Signature series changed our mind. We've had it for 6mths and just love this vehicle. No problems of any kind yet. The ride is great. Bumps are muted. Handling is good and long trips are not tiring at all. The seats are very comfortable. Mileage is excellent, getting 27mpg highway, 22mpg average for the rest of our driving. Stow & Go seating was a master stroke. Also great for storage or just keeping something out of sight. Navigation is very accurate and easy to use once you get it figured out. It's a bit user unfriendly till you do.
Favorite Features
Navigation system, Stow & Go Seats, electric doors & tailgate, good gas mileage, excellent visibility all around. Really didn't need backup assist beepers. Passengers head is back even with door post not blocking your view to your right.
Suggested Improvements
I really only have two complaints. The navigation screen is too low in the dash. Should be closer to eye level. Also the DVD screen totally blocks out the rear view mirror vision. Extension arms would drop screen below rear mirror vision & still give you most visibility.

Road Trip
Vehicle
2005 Chrysler Town and Country 4dr Minivan (3.3L 6cyl 4A)
Review
In June and July 2005, took a trip from Omaha, NE to Labrador, Canada. Overall trip was 7,000 miles through the rolling hills of Iowa, along the level roads of Illinois thru Ohio, southern mountains of New York and hilly and sometimes very steep hills and mountains of New Brunswick and Newfoundland. Absolutely no problems mechanically with the van. Ride was much more enjoyable than a car. Biggest surprise was that the radio stayed with frequencies for long stretches. Power wise the 3.3L seems a great match for this vehicle. The passing accelaration was good on the two lane roads; also the cruise control performed very well when going up steep roads. Liked the views from sitting higher.
Favorite Features
Radio. Liked the cruise buttons on the steering wheel. Front cup holders extremely convenient where placed. Netting between the seats very functional. Seat arrangements are very versitile and can be made into a bed. Left middle seat out for great load capacity. Power there when needed.
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage. Got 24-25 mpg on the highway at 70-75 mph. In the city 20 mpg. On a long trip, wish better gas mileage. Length of front seat should be slightly longer. A little less road noise and a slightly more smoother ride over bumps. If you want a cheap reliable van, this is it for $17K.

We brought the T&C as our first van. I was impressed with how well the van drives compared to most cars I have owned. Unlike some vans, you can still drive it like a drivers car. It corners well, has excellent power and wonderful full throttle acceleration. The seats are very comfortable, if a bit on the hard side. I would recommend getting the heated seats. The sunroof is a very nice touch and you might not even feel like you are driving a van. The 6 disk CD changer is good for long trips. I would not get the DVD if you have a laptop, you can buy a $30 inverter at target that lets you use it in the car and saves you a grand. The only minus is bad mileage. It needs a fourth gear.
Favorite Features
Power doors, stow n' go seating, sunroof, feels like you are driving a decent european car, not a minivan.
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy downright stinks when you are driving short trips, or stop and go driving like shopping. We have gotten as low as 11 mpg in cold weather on short trips. Highest highway has been 21 (at 75 mph).

Excellent minivan! We had a Ford Winstar for about five years before we purchased this Chrysler Town and Country Touring minivan -- the difference between the vans was like night and day.

Comfort - quiet drive - Stow & Go seating - just about everything.

While this vehicle is attractive and has all the bells and whistles I am going with a Toyota or Honda next year. This van has no grab handles for the front passengers and other little conveniences the foreign cars have. The best feature is the Navigation Systen. Easy and fun to use. For the price the Honda offers much more as does the Toyota. The T&C does not hold its value. Factory tires are bummers.
Favorite Features
Navigation System and fold down seats.
Suggested Improvements
Grab handles for all entries.
