Re: Leaking rear A/C evaporator [kccat]

I have been checking into A/C problems on the internet and received this message from a large auto parts supplier: Well, you are correct about this being a widespread problem. I was contacted by my vendor a few weeks ago, notifying me that this evaporator core is under development, and that I had better place my order, because orders for this unit are huge. I just ... Chrysler Town & Country: Starting/Stalling/Idling Problems

Re: 2003 Town & Country [judger1]

I purchased a 2007 town and Country and I had the same problem the day after we picked up the car from the dealer. My husband was driving the car and it shut down while he was waiting at a red light and my child was in the car. We brought it back to the dealer and they said the issue had something to do with the automatic starter that they installed and the ignition. Now we ... Read More...

2008 Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Grand Caravan

Re: Still Shopping [odymomma]

After our comparisons, we were sure it was going to be the Town and Country, but ended up with the Grand Caravan. They happened to have one of each that were basically identical. The only differences were the T&C had remote start and the Grand Caravan had Automatic Climate Control. Town and Country was about $800 more. The real kicker in the end was my wife prefered ... Had the same problem as bravado1 with our 2003 Chrysler Town and Country van. Replaced the control module (p/n 5179985AA) and problem is solved. The control module cost $103 in Mpls, MN. Thanks for your help bravado1! Read More...

2008 Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Grand Caravan

Who will be the orphan?

Reuters News Service is reporting that DX dealers have approved a reorganization plan that will eliminate many dealers. Also, and perhaps of more importance to consumers, Chrysler will eliminate as many as 30 models including one of their two minivan brands. Trust me, you do not want to be the owner of a discontinued model. My 2003 Olds Silhouette's value dropped ... Read More...

Chrysler Minivan Transmission Problems

Re: 2007 Dodge Caravan transmission [ericbenwa]

Tom 166. I have a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van (similar to your Dodge van). Had software updated, low gear replaced, etc. Rides a little bit better but problem still there. Mechanics say there is nothing wrong per computer. No lights in van indicating anything wrong. I can feel the van shifting from one gear to the next. Service manager said to come back if the ... Chrysler Town & Country Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: 2007 Chrysler Town & Country Limited [maguy]

I purchased at T & C Limited MSRP $37,860 Sunroof & Uconnect. The advertised price in the Tampa Bay Florida area was $29467. I purchased it for $23,500 out the door. That included a trade of a 2003 Mazda MPV Van with 87000 miles in good condition. Read More...

Chrysler Minivan Transmission Problems

Re: How are the 2007 transmissions? [ondaman]

"I wonder if the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country SWB (3.3L V6 170HP) has the same transmission quality issues." I'm not sure which issues you are referring to. Starting in 2001 Chrysler revised the transmission a bit and started sending them out the door with external transmission oil coolers (the Gen 3s relied upon an oil cooler in the radiator only), and a lifetime ... Honda Odyssey vs Dodge/Chrysler minivans

Re: 2004 Chrysler Town and Country Limited vs 2007 Honda Odyssey EX [masterpaul1]

I'm glade to hear that you have had less repairs then we have. Let me ask though, what repairs have you had done, big or small, up to 174K? At 131k miles, I had my main cooling fan (radiator fan) replaced due to motor failure. My brake master cylinder developed a very slow leak around 155k miles - had that replaced. Most recently, I had a developing crack in my radiator, ... Read More...
