2001 Chrysler Town & Country - Cabin Heat Issue - Eng Temp Gage Issue

I have a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country LX MiniVan. It has nearly 160,000 miles on it. I live in Michigan where it gets cold and snows. Two weeks ago (end of January), the vehicle began having heating issues... Upon start up, the engine runs fine. The needle on the engine temperature gauage remains at the bottom, at "C" for at least 5 to 10 mins. Then it slow increases ... Read More...

Chrysler Town & Country: Starting/Stalling/Idling Problems

T&C Starting Problems

I have a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country Mini-van. A couple of years ago I started having problems with it starting. It would begin to start & then try to cutout for a few seconds & then die. This typically happened on very hot days. Recently it has gone to where the engine will crank but it will not start. If I pop the hood, open the relay box, remove the "Starter" relay, ... Re: Leaking rear A/C evaporator [kccat]

I have been checking into A/C problems on the internet and received this message from a large auto parts supplier: Well, you are correct about this being a widespread problem. I was contacted by my vendor a few weeks ago, notifying me that this evaporator core is under development, and that I had better place my order, because orders for this unit are huge. I just ... Re: 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ABS/Brake Light [notsoredbeard]

Conclusion: After replacing the cluster, the problem turned out to be the brake module...replaced it for another $300. Of course they told me that the cluster was also bad and I couldn't replace it with the old cluster. So after about $1100, it's fixed. (Problem was brake light, abs light, trac warning coming on intermittently; and total instrument panel malfunctioning ... Read More...

Re: 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ABS/Brake Light [notsoredbeard]

Follow-up to message 180 and my response: I bit the bullet and replaced the instrument cluster on my 2001 T&C. The ABS and Brake warning lights were coming on intermittently, along with the Trac light. Paid Chrysler $870.00 ! Guess you know what comes nextÂ….drove about 5 miles and the lights came on again! Taking it back tomorrow morning. Does anyone have a clue ... Read More...

Re: 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ABS/Brake Light [lholcomb]

Yes! Same problem....2001 T&C. The ABS and brake lights come on intermittently. Also, the trac indicator in the mileage box, and twice all the "idiot" lights came on and the gauges stopped working. Any idea what the problem is? The dealer wants to replace the cluster at about a thousand dollars! I've checked and checked and can't replicate the problem. Possible ... Read More...

2001 Chrysler Town & Country ABS/Brake Light

I had my ABS system replace a year ago. Since then my ABS & brake light comes on. I've taken it in and the last time they told me the wiring harness keeps coming loose so that is why my lights come on. Is this something that can be fixed at home or should it be taken to the dealership? Any suggestion or anyone else have problems with their dash lights coming on. I also lost ... Read More...

Re: 2001 Chrysler Dodge Town & Country Cabin Heat Problem [chaz6]

Have you checked the coolant level in the white overflow reservoir? You should see the coolant line at the minimum line, when the engine is cold and between the minimum and maximum line, when engine is warm. Also, look for visual leaks under the hood and on the ground, when the engine is at regular temp. When you are driving at a constant speed, does it over heat or ... Read More...
