The 2.7, 3.3/3.8, and 3.5/4.0 are definitely not basically all the same engine. The 2.7 is the only DOHC V6 that Chrysler currently has, and is not a common architecture with anything else. The 3.5/4.0 are a common architecture as stated. The 3.3/3.8 are ancient push-rod engines, very cheap to make and very reliable. Just very short on power. You are correct in stating that they will all eventually be replaced ... Read More

The 2008 seemed to have more issues. We have a 2009 4.0 with 20k so far no issues brakes are fine. I track mpg per tank in a ledger. I have a 2008 Town and Country Touring that I bought new in October 2008. In November 2009, I had 30,000 miles and needed to have my back brakes done after the left rear tire nearly caught on fire while 1600 miles from home. I was on the Florida turnpike with a car load of family - mostly kids! The repairs at a Chrysler dealership cost me $620.00. They claimed I ... Read More

Most of Chrysler's new engines will be Fiat derived. That may be a good thing. The 1.2L that was in my '73 128-SL was like a sewing machine compared to the 4-bangers that were coming out of Detroit at the time. 'Course, the engine was, by far, the best part of the car .

Hello all, I am new to this. I wanted to share my car buying experience. On June 8th I purchased a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country. On the 10th I removed the advertising plate the dealer had installed on the front bumper. I have purchased several cars and truck in the past that also had plate on the front. The only difference is, the dealer drilled holes in the bumper to ... Read More

For all I know these unbelievable deals could possibly be a regional thing; maybe there's little to no sales of GC, or T&C in certain parts of the country - hence the great deals. Here in southeastern Wisconsin I see a good number of 2008/2009 GC, or T&C on the road...That said there are a few dealers in my area with 20, or more mini-vans on their lot that I know ... Read More

This past weekend I was offered $24,200 on a 25th anniversary T&C (MSRP $34,405) in the NY Metro area -- based on the amount of pressure the dealer applied against Monday night's employee plus plus deadline, I figured things were only going to get better if I let the deadline slide. I would like to buy "American", and help out Chrysler since I like the looks/layout of the T&C - however the past quality woes (per Consumer Reports), and possible bankruptcy kinda scares me away from Chrysler, and more towards Honda/Toyota (whom by the way aren't chastised by CR for their respective faulty transmissions/faulty sliding doors). Looks as though some here have had good luck with the 2009 line-up; this gives me ... Read More

The T&C with the tow package includes the self leveling rear suspension and I thought it drove much better and the steering feedback was much better than the GC.
