We have a 2007 DGC, and none of our sets have experienced the problem you have. I'm guessing that you cannot buy just the cable or leg from Chrysler, but rather have to buy the whole seat. Why don't you look in a junk yard for the same year van and see if they have the whole seat. Then just use the parts you need. Color should not be a concern. ... Read More

The A/C on my 2005 T&C will start cold and then blows hot, then cold again and will continue this cycle for some time. Dealer shop check the freon and for leaks and said it was OK, but the problem didn't exhibit itself while in service. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Look, I also had a 2005 Grand Caravan, which was definitely better than my 2008 Town & Country. Not in terms of features, but handling, and some other minor things, was a bit better. This does work (I think I read the same forum!) but unfortunately it's temporary. In some cases it may not even last a day. Recalls are normally only done for things that are directly safety related. What Chrysler should do (and they have done this in the past with similar issues) is admit there was a defect with a significant number of these steering racks, and issue an extended warantee for that part - including retroactive payments for anyone who already had to pay for the replacement. If there is a recall there is nothing in the system. I put my last 8 digits of my Vin for recall searches in Chrysler.com and found nothing regarding brakes. Regarding my local dealer, I never feel comfortable with speaking to their reps behind the counter. When ever you ask them anything its always "I don't know, but bring it in and we'll take a look".

Thanks for the reply - good luck with your mechanic's possible fix. I spoke with my dealer...taking the van in next week. He admitted that brakes are an ongoing issue with T&C's and he is constantly is repairing/replacing. In fact, he mentioned that Chrysler has a perpetual recall on their minivan brake systems...might be worth checking into with your dealer. I'll update after my visit.

Unfortunately, this appears to be a temporary fix. My locks quit working again in 3-4 days. Removing the fuse fixes it only temporarily. I found a fix for this problem on the internet - (ain't it wonderful!!!!). Turns out the computer can get confused about a door lock actuator problem which will disable the locks (horn, lights, memory seats all change but no locks). It's funny that most reviews use the Grand Caravan without self-leveling suspension. The T&C with the tow package includes the self leveling rear suspension and I thought it drove much better and the steering feedback was much better than the GC. Yes, had exact same situation. 2005 T&C LX and door locks not working. Remove battery cable to reset computer, and then they work for a few days and then they stop again. Take vehicle to Chrysler and am advised I need a software update to the computer and they charge me for it! Why are we charged for a problem with Chrysler's computer programming?

Have you contacted your service manager at a near by dealership or whom ever you purchased the player from? The reason might be the computor has to be reset for the change to the system. Point 1: ATF+3 is Chrysler's very specific semi-synthetic formulation and no amount of any additive in the world will make Dextron (of any flavor) compatible with ATF+3. Not sure about the 1999, but I recently received a recall notice for my 2005 T&C and it said something about the wiper motor.
I just built s 2006 GC SXT......go thru the exercise with no options, $2500 rebate, EP $3569...no negotiating, no running all over the country looking for a Honda dealer who won't rape you, no checking every website for a grand $1340 off (sites that aren't updated regularly - no doubt). This is only my opinion.... A good friend of mine recently bought a used (18,000 miles) 2006 Honda Odyssey. Prior to this purchase I had never driven in a new model Ody. My opinion, after riding in the van, was that the interior of the Ody was MUCH nicer than my Wife's 2005 Town & Country Touring. Interesting dealer visit to Golling Dodge in West Bloomfield MI. Supposedly the highest ranked and largest DCX dealership in country? ave repeatedly stated that DCX owners don't need to post many of their deals, because they don't have to run around the country seeking out a "deal" when DCX offers very competitive pricing and features. Look at the Ody pricing area - 11,000 postings!!!!! Same thing with problems....If DXC vans were as bad as you bashers say, and selling at 2 times the Ody rate, the problem area would be over ... WOW. I just spent some time in the Chrysler Town and Country prices paid section. My head hurts. All the rebates and employee pricing and loyalty programs and........ I just traded in my 1996 GC for a 2005 T&C. I also own a 99 Toyota RAV4. One difference I noticed between the makes - when my Chrysler product takes a stone chip, it doesn't rust. Every chip on my RAV4 starts to rust almost immediatley. I believe that Chrysler's paint process is superior to Toyota's. Also, the seat belts in my Toyota are shredding, and I'll have to replace ... I am writing about the inventory in AUGUST 2005 when I was actively looking. ;) I will probably buy the Toyota Sienna LE at Mark Miller Toyota when I get my next vehicle. Mark Miller has the best inventory of Sienna and does not load them all up with overpriced Toyota options as does Menlove Toyota and Larry H. Miller Toyota. This is not 1985, or even 2000. Owning a Nissan 20 years ago does not mean the Quest sucks. First gen Siennas and Odys were not very good either. The last recall effected over 85,000 owners (but none on this forum I'm sure) with potential of misfiring airbags. That's more important than 0-60 times, or number of cupholders in my book.
