I'd try replacing your blow motor resistor. It controls your motor speed via the front fan dial and is located behind the glove box. Usually when your replace the blower motor, should do resistor at same time. As fan bearing wear out, it has higher resistance which cause the motor resistor to eventually short out.

I doubt the alternator is causing it to run rough. If you have two weak cylinders, this is not caused by the alternator. With the engine light on, that means there are codes. I'd have the codes read and go from there.

No, not unless your battery was VERY low, and in that case you would not be able to start it long before it runs out of enough juice to power the park plugs. Your drive style is the issue, and whether you're on the highway, or do strictly city driving. Here in Canada I get about 600km's in combined city/h'way driving with a thrifty drive style. When I step on it, the 3.8L will be quite a gas guzzler, so the 270Mi. is not unrealistic. Driving the vehicle hard will also wreck the transmission in no time!

In our humble opinion, if you have the money get the Limited with the DVD Player and Sunroof. We've had a 1998 T&C, a 2001 Grand Caravan ES and now the 2005. It is the best car we have ever owned. Better than our Hondas, Acuras and anything from the US. On the Tuesday after Labor Day 2004, we went off to our local Honda dealer and put down a $1,000 ... Read More

They said if it starts, runs 3 seconds and then stops, it means the computer does not recognize the chip in the key and thinks the van is being stolen. First time they replaced the main brain ($500 plus $286 "labor"+ $38 towing), second event they replaced "the alarm brain" for $300 + $175 ... Read More

I have a potential explanation because I've seen this happen. Sometimes a technician, especially those not familiar with the nuances of Chrysler automatics, may start the engine up and place it in to a neutral or a gear before having enough ATF in the system. A sensor detects low, out-of-range fluid pressure. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) reads this and shuts the transmission down . You don't know it at the ... Read More

Just to follow up - the mechanic is an old friend, he wanted to change the fluid and filter again just to go thur things. He did, problem was still there, he call Chrysler. They finally told him it was a computer reprogram, but they couldn't explain why. Just said it happened sometimes. He reprogrammed, everything is cool.

If he used Dexron-Mercon with or wihout an additive it is not unusual to get torque convertor shudder or irratic EMCC/torque converter clutch operation. Only Chrysler ATF+4 (MS-9602) should be used in these transmissions. Dexron-Mercon does not contain a patented friction modifier that is required for correct shift operation. Being obverfilled is a big problem, especially as much as you've indicated. Regards, Dusty

I had this happen on my 03.. it was a computer problem.. I think there is a procedure for resetting the computer after a transmission service. My van calmed down after a couple of days.. I'd give it a few days before he re-does it. And like the other poster said - make sure he used ONLY Mopar ATF +4 fluid in your transmission. Dexron III (normal A/T fluid) will ruin ... Read More

Did your mechanic use "genuine" Chrysler transmission fluid? Use only the fluid that your dealer sells for your vehicle and nothing else or you will have "big" problems.

Hi - I'm new to this site. I have a 2001 Town and Country with 84,000 on it, never had any problems. Had the transmission fluid and filter changed last week by a guy who's worked on my cars for a long time, and he's been very good. Since the fluid change, the van runs smooth up to cruising speed. Slowing down, at 30 MPH, there's a distinct shudder from the ... Read More

The last recall effected over 85,000 owners (but none on this forum I'm sure) with potential of misfiring airbags. That's more important than 0-60 times, or number of cupholders in my book. Misfiring, nice way to put it when I looked at the recall it said it possibly wouldn't go off. Not blow up in your face like you imply. Another slant to make things look worse then they are, same ... Thanks for the tip. What I don't understand - is when I call Chrysler and give them my VIN # they say there have been no recalls or customer alerts for my vehicle.
Where to begin, but I'll make it brief. Our 2001 Chrysler Town & Country died at 41,000 miles. We had it in to the dealership for a blown air conditioner in May 2005 and mentioned that we also had problems with the car dying for no apparent reason other than acceleration or deceleration (usually in the summer here in AZ where it's over 100).
