The base 2.4L four and mid-range 2.7L V6 provide disappointing performance and refinement; the top-line 3.5L V6 is smooth with healthy mid-range response. Handling is average for a midsize family sedan with moderate body roll and decently weighted steering, but the brakes are underpowered.
The Sebring provides a quiet, comfortable ride. Headroom and legroom are ample front and rear, but hip- and shoulder room are tight for a midsize sedan.
The control layout is simple, and it takes only minutes to figure out how to rip a CD to the optional MyGIG on-board hard drive. Trunk capacity is low for this class, though both the rear seats and the front-passenger seat fold.
A midsize car built on a stretched compact-car chassis, the Sebring has an ungainly look that won't win many fans. Interior materials quality is mediocre.
