I am a long time Chrysler owner, three in the garage right now and several in the past. I have a 2008 Sebring h/t convertible with 27,000 miles and recently replaced the lousy Bridgestone OEM tires. I heard a rubbing noise in the front so I removed the wheels and hand checked the lug torque to recommended 110 footpounds. The noise continued for several days, but when I removed the cover ... My 2009 Sebring has a sunroof. As I described water kept pooling up on back seat's floor. I took it to the dealer & they fixed it without charge. They said it was under warranty. It was a drainage tube that was blocked up.
If you could get under the dash a bit and see if you see water running down the firewall---that would tip you off to a fresh air vent drain being clogged...usually roof drain leaks don't enter that way, and windshield leaks...well...maybe but generally they are in the corners of the windshield.
When it rains My front passenger floor is soaked in water , about twoto three inches. There seems to be a few drops of water on the inside of the car next to the dashboard paneling that meets with the door. Is it the drains on the door or under the seal on the door , roof area or even the windshield? The water is no where else. PLease help......also, does ... Read More
I had my 2008 Sebring in to the dealer yesterday, they say it needs an update and this is a known problem. I asked iif t was a recall, no it is not and would cost about $184.00. This is a potential accident waiting to happen. I was at a stop light when it decided to lunge forward into the intersection. Calling Chrysler
Hi Everyone, In August of 2008 I bought a 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible with an extended warranty until 80k miles. Its been craziness since then... I have had it in the garage for transmission service 7 times and it needs to go back but I've given up on trying to get it fixes -- its a complete waste of time. About a month ago, a filed suit under the lemon law ... Read More
hi all, we recently purchased a used 2008 sebring convertible. had only 14000. on it. not bad. great looking car. took it out for a test drive and the roof creaked and rattled while up. they to;ld us it would be taken care of. so we put thetop down and the ride was smooth. the next few days it was inh the 90's and the roof down was a welcome ride. ... Thanks much for your input. I just picked my car up from the dealer about an hour ago. If it is actually fixed remains to be seen. I, of course, have to wait for the next rain. I will say this for the dealership...........they had my car for a week (today) but provided me with a SWEEEEET ride (brand new; not a rental) a 2008 Sebring Convertivble. I enjoyed it immensely ... Well, apparently I'm not the only one with these issues. We all have similar problems that we cannot seem to get fixed. Most recent problem involves not starting and dead batteries. Over the summer had random times when it needed to be jumped. Two months ago I replaced a "dead" battery. One month ago had to replace a "defective" battery. A week ago it wouldn't start again and had to jump ... Read More
This is the first time I've heard about this problem. Was your car one of the earlier 2008 models, May or June 07? I heard there is a recall on some 08 Sebring convertibles associated with a door latch. I recently received my replacement vehicle, built in Nov. 07, and so far it is perfect and I'm loving it. But I've only driven it 480 miles. I'm optimistic that Chrysler has ... Read More
I share the same problem as many of you on this board. I purchased my 2007 Chrysler Sebring January 2008. Within 1 month, my car radio would change stations. Within 1 to 2 months, I noticed my airbag, brake, engine, and seat belt lights go on and off throughout the drive. I took the car to the dealership. They could not duplicate the issue with the radio. They did "repair" the ... Read More
I just read online that Chrysler has sent out a recall on Sebrings due to an electrical problem that might cause stalling or other issues. "Chrysler will seal the wires for the tire pressure monitoring system" at no cost. However--according to the story I read it is on 2007-08 models only. As we know, this problem occurs in Sebrings from 1998-2008. Mine is a 1999 and after the 4th repair recently, ... Read More
I have a 1996 Sebring Convertible Jxi 2.5L. I want all of you to know that I had this stalling problem, and it was very scary. I took my 2008 Sebring to another Chrysler dealership. They called corporate with no positive response. I am still driving around with what feels like a loaded gun. If nothing happens, I am going to have to persue the lemon law. ... Read More
I have a 2008 Sebring convertible and I am very happy with it. The 2.7litre engine is returning over 30mpg. Everything works as it should and I have it maintained regularly. I have a feeling that many of the complaints against Chrysler on this and other ... Read More
I just rented a 2008 Alamo Chrysler Sebring (4 cyl auto) out of Detroit and went on an epic 2 week driving quest (e.g. see the college kids). Total of 3433 miles with with 108.9 gallons of gas. Jackie: Good point that the dealer, not Chrysler, made the rental car available to you. Points go to the dealer for that. I agree that Chrysler will probably not want to negotiate a special contract. But it won't hurt to try. No, I'm not an attorney. Now you know how little my advice is worth. :P
Mike: I appreciate ALL your suggestions--you sound like an attorney. You're right--Chrysler will have picked up the tab on the rentals but the dealer made it happen. I think most of us are having problems with the soft top but does anyone have the retractable hard top with the same problems (do they have the same mechanism)? This was asked on another forum. Very nice styling and I bought a Sebring a few years ago. 1) Just after the warranty ran out the head gasket went out.
