Chrysler Sebring Starting and Stalling Problems

Wanting Sebring Convertible real bad, but scared

One mechanic I asked to look at a Sebring 2002 I was interested in, said, "If it has a 2.7 engine, I won't even look at it." Of course it did as has all the others I have looked at. He said his aunt took perfect care of her car and one day at a red light it blew up. The motor had to be replaced because the water lines run through the motor and if they begin to leak, well it's ruined. ... Read More...

Chrysler Sebring Audio System Questions

Re: Finding stereo system replacement for Sebring Convertible, 2001 [dtaylor1]

We have had problems with our 2002 Sebring radio and 4 CD changer and will be replacing it with an aftermarket unit. Any local car stereo shop can sell and install a unit for you. Cruchfield.com is also a good source for after market stereo/cd players. You will not be able to buy a unit which will control your 4 CD changer. No one makes such a unit. You can probably find ... Chrysler Sebring Transmission Questions

2002 Sebring Auto Trans rough "down-shift"

Hi All! I have a 2002 Sebring LXI sedan with 81K miles. I'm currently praying that the car will last longer then my car payments to Chrysler Financial which end 4/2007!!! Several times when I'm travelling at a slow speed, I feel a bang from the transmission when it down-shifts. There is no problem at high speed and the problem is intermittent. I spoke to the dealer ... Read More...

2007 Chrysler Sebring

Re: 07 Sebring [zeen]

I was hopeful for the 2007 model. Currently, I own a 2002 black Sebring LX. I bought it brand new for a really good price. It feels very solid and it's proven to be a faithful soldier. Only 2-3 minor problems surfaced during these past 5 years and all have been covered under warranty. Even after all this time I get many compliments on my car's appearance (100% stock, ... Chrysler Sebring New Owners Reports

Can I Rant too!

Leased a new 2002 Sebring Convertible for 5 years. Boy, it sure looked good sittin there on the show room floor - should have left it there! With in the first 6 months of ownership, it was in the shop 11 times for various things. To be honest, I have forgotten some of the reasons, but here is what I remember: Pulled bad to the right, "they fixed it" - still pulled to the ... Read More...

Chrysler Sebring Transmission Questions

Re: 2002 sebring transmission [kczyblnd41]

I also have a 2002 sebring with 82,000 mile and have been experiancing the SAME ISSUES! My car consistently jerks back and forth when I'm coming to a stop or slowing down. It then started not going from reverse to drive. I noticed it was leaking a red fluid and took it in. Fluid was low. They reconnected a hose that had come loose from the transmission. They also did ... Read More...

Solara or Sebring Convertible?

Hello, This is my very first post. I'm going to be buying a car in a about a month or two. I'm torn between the Sebring and Toyota Solara convertible. I've always been a BIG believer in Toyota and Honda. Their cars last forever. My boyfriend is a mechanic and he says that the Toyota is the better car. But for what I would pay for a 2002 Toyota Solara Convertible, I can get ... Read More...

Chrysler Sebring Water Leaks

Re: [KarenS]

Has anyone had water leak problems with the Sebring Convertible? I have a 2002 convertible and have had standing water in the passenger side back foot well - has happened 5 times since I've had car. Chrysler has drained it 3 times, now this time refuses to do it for free. Even though they have drained it 3 times before. They tell me that this is not a design defect, and ... Read More...

Chrysler Sebring Problems and Solutions

Everything is fixed and still having trouble... NOW WHAT???

In the time frame of a week and a half, I have had to have my '00 Chrysler Sebring JXi convertible towed to service three times for miscellaneous repairs and have still had the continual stalling out of the engine, almost everything has been replaced, so far in the past year and a half we have spent almost 1,800.00 in repairs on this car and it is still not functioning ... Re: I hate my Chrysler Sebring but I can't afford a new car! [dmhctt]

I've got a 2002 LXI Convertible, which is also a piece of junk! There should be a class action suit against Chrysler. I wonder how many known problems are played down by them. I've had warped front break rotors, windows that wouldn't go down together properly when the roof was lowered, iffy climate control, rattle at the right-rear, intermittent/now solid airbag ...
